For the occasion of Ink Brussels 2019, Garage Cosmos presents artworks by Salvador Dalí, Isidore Isou, David Mach, Sarkis and Gil Wolman, that incorporate ink as a three-dimensional medium. The ink is contained in bottles, jars, bowls or inkwells. The artists do not apply techniques of ink painting on paper, they do not manipulate the ink but leave it as is, considering the ink itself as the artwork. They thus disrupt established canons of beauty that emphasise the expression of individuality, dismantling traditional frameworks to expand the possibilities of ink. Indeed, ink can be used in many ways without the brush and paper as intermediary.

Carlos Kusnir is a painter who has lived in Buenos Aires, Bratislava, Prague, Paris and Marseille. He has been active since the early 80s. His work plays with figuration, trompe-l'œil and abstract painting. He shows what could be refered to as street scenes where the social intervenes like a whisper coming from a hidden window, or as if carried by the evening heat of southern cities.

Johan Muyle is a sculptor active in the field of contemporary art since 1983. Since 1992 he has dedicated himself to customising Harley Davidsons. Their complexity is reflected in his numerous preparatory drawings.
