Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) has increased the price of diesel by Tk34 per litre, with the new rate effective from midnight. Octane prices have also risen by Tk46 per litre to Tk135.

The price hike is due to the rise in international crude oil prices and the weakening of the taka against the US dollar.

This is the second time in two months that prices have been increased, and the 7th time since January 2020. consumers have to spend Tk114 to buy one liter of kerosene.

১৭ সেপ্টেম্বর/২০২১ শুক্রবার বিকাল ৩ টায় বগুড়ার শিবগন্জ উপজেলার বগুড়া-রংপুর হাইওয়ের মোকামতলা মীর & রুবেল এলপিজি অটো গ্যাস স্টেশন এর শুভ উদ্বোধন করেন বাংলাদেশ এলপিজি অটো গ্যাস স্টেশন মালিক সমিতির সভাপতি ইন্জিনিয়ার সিরাজুল মওলা ও মোকামতলা পল্লী বিদুৎ সমিতির ডিজিএম আব্দুর রহিম ।এ সময় উপস্থিত ছিলেন শিবগন্জ সাবেক উপজেলা চেয়রম্যান মীর শাহে আলম সহ স্থানীয় গন্যমান্য ব্যক্তিবর্গ ।
