These transfer cases have a big job transferring all that HEMI power through the AWD system, and when they start developing problems you can experience binding, shuddering, clunking or abnormal driveline noises.

Hear a grumble from your Outlander or X-Trail CVT? Don’t ignore it. ⚠️

This Mitsubishi Outlander came in with a reduction gear bearing failure in its CVT — and unfortunately, this one was driven for too long after the noise started.

By the time we pulled it down, the bearing had failed completely. What may have started as a grumble has now turned into a much bigger repair.

This CVT is also commonly found in the Nissan X-Trail, and reduction gear bearing noise is something worth catching early.

If your Outlander or X-Trail is developing a grumbling, humming or bearing-type noise while driving, get it checked before it gets to this stage. Catching the problem early can be the difference between repairing the fault and dealing with the aftermath of a complete failure.

Another tough TH400 out the door. 💪
This full manual, reverse-pattern TH400 is heading home, built to handle the punishment behind a tough LS. With a few carefully selected internal upgrades, it's ready for plenty of hard launches and reliable passes down the strip.
While this one was heading out the door, the workshop was still flat out:
✅ VF SS in for a transmission service. ✅ BMW 328i receiving a transmission service. ✅ Subaru Outback having transmission pulled out for transmission repairs.

Toyota RAV4 was towed in with no drive. After our testing pointed to an internal CVT failure, it was time to tear it down.

✔️ Pan removed... belt material.
✔️ Valve body removed... even more belt material.
✔️ Transmission stripped... there's the culprit—a broken CVT belt. 💥

There's nothing better than a teardown confirming exactly what your testing told you. Now it's onto the rebuild and getting this RAV4 back on the road.
Don't let anyone tell you CVT transmissions can't be repaired.

4th gear has officially left the chat. 💀🦷

This Ford Mustang's MT82 manual gearbox came in with a very unhappy 4th gear. Safe to say the tooth fairy is going to have a decent haul tonight!
When gear teeth let go like this, the damage doesn't stop there. Every broken tooth becomes shrapnel, making its way through the gearbox and often taking out bearings, synchros and other gears along the way.
Time for a full strip down, inspection and rebuild to get this Mustang back to rowing through the gears the way it should.

⚙️ Colorado up on the hoist getting a torque converter replacement along with a valve body upgrade to sort out those common issues.
⚙️ Golf R in for a clutch replacement.
⚙️ And sitting on the floor ready to go — a Hilux front diff dropped off for a full rebuild.
