Mitsubishi CVT transmission heat exchanger alert.
To avoid a strawberry milkshake inside your transmission, check your coolant level in the overflow bottle regularly, if it slowly drops I would advise changing the unit as shown in the last picture of this post.
It’s usually around the 120,000klm mark when I see this occur .

CJ Lancer 2007-onward
ASX 2010-onward
ZG Outlander-onward
This component is soley responsible for cooling of the fluid in your transmission using engine coolant as the heat sink.
It is documented that electrolysis is the main catalyst for the internal rupturing of this small cooler being that its made of aluminium.
Coolant ingress spells the end of any transmission life.
