So we all knew this was coming and we received our email today from Penrite (below) telling us of the upcoming price hikes. At the moment until we are out of our current stock, our prices will remain the same.
We refuse to change to a cheaper oil and service your cars with inferior oils and products. We know you will all understand that eventually we will have to rise the prices as small business like us can not absorb a hike like this. We sincerely do our best to keep our prices affordable and thank you for all your past and future support and understanding.
Subject: Penrite Price Adjustment Notice
On behalf of Penrite Oil, I would like to sincerely thank you for your continued support of our family-owned business. As Penrite celebrates 100 years of Australian manufacturing and service, we
remain deeply committed to supporting our customers with quality products, dependable supply, and personal service.
We understand that businesses across Australia continue to face significant cost pressures, and we know there is never a good time for a price increase. We have delayed this decision for as long as
possible, with our last price adjustment taking place in April 2023. Over the past three years, we have worked hard to absorb rising costs across wages, freight, electricity, and raw materials.
Unfortunately, recent events in the Middle East have caused substantial increases in the cost of key inputs including base oils, additives, and packaging. Domestic and international freight costs have also risen sharply, adding further pressure across our supply chain.
We have worked closely with our suppliers and across our operations to minimise the effect of these
increases and reduce the impact on our customers wherever possible. However, the scale of these cost increases means that a pricing adjustment is now necessary.
Price Adjustment
Effective 18th May 2026, Penrite Oil Australia will implement a price increase of between 5% and 18%
with an average increase of 10% across selected product categories, including coolants, heavy duty engine oils, passenger car engine oils, gear oils, automatic transmission fluids, brake fluids, and
cleaning products.
Greases have been the most heavily impacted and will increase by up to 20%.
Thank you for your support and understanding.
The Penrite Team.
