🧵 WE'RE HIRING! 1ST YEAR APPRENTICE MOTOR TRIMMER 🧵

Ever wanted to get paid to work with your hands, learn a trade that's actually rare these days, and see a finished product roll out the door that YOU helped build? This is it.

Universal Upholstery is on the hunt for a 1st Year Apprentice Motor Trimmer to join our Wodonga team. No two days are the same — one day you're stitching up a modern car interior, the next you're fitting out a custom hot rod or trimming a jet ski seat. You'll get hands-on with steel and woodworking tools for frame-building, pick up welding, use mechanic's tools to strip down car and boat interiors, and learn your way around industrial sewing machines — all taught by trimmers who genuinely love the craft.

What we're looking for:
✅ Completed Year 10 (minimum)
✅ Keen to learn a real trade, not just clock in and out
✅ Good with your hands, good attitude, ready to work
✅ Reliable, punctual, and a team player

Another feature of the incredible new library at Shepparton Christian College 📚

Working alongside builder Moretto Building, our talented team at Avery Cabinets was proud to bring the custom joinery throughout this architecturally designed space to life.

This curved, tiered seating area features polytec Natural Oak joinery, finished with bright yellow cushioned seating by our friends at Universal Upholstery to create a welcoming spot for students to gather, read and learn.

The flowing curves and detailed timber screening required plenty of technical skill, precision and attention to detail - a great example of the craftsmanship our team brings to every project.

Custom bag cover for a Quintrex 460 Renegade SC ⛵ — charcoal acrylic canvas with black binding, cut and fitted to accommodate the electric motor.

This one's all about the fit 💪. A bag cover like this needs to sit tight, drain well, and hold up to whatever the weather throws at it — whether it's getting towed on the trailer or parked at the back of the house. Charcoal canvas with black binding keeps it looking sharp while it does the job. 🖤

Before and after — 1931 Roadster interior restoration 😍🙌. Front seat, door trims, steering wheel recover and new carpets, all in cream leather and carpet.

Look at where this one started. The seat was completely stripped back, the trims were shot and the steering wheel was worn through to bare material. The owner had already done an incredible job on the body and mechanicals — this gorgeous steel blue paintwork and chrome detail deserved an interior to match. 💙✨

We retrimmed the full bench seat and door trims in cream leather with vertical fluted stitching, recovered the Webster steering wheel to match, and laid new cream carpet throughout. Every piece was custom made and fitted to the body of the car. The result speaks for itself — 95 years old and looking better than ever. 🏆

Full custom interior for a Hot Rod Coupe 🔥🖤 — and what a build this thing is.

When a car looks this mean on the outside, the inside has to match. We did the full fit-out — custom bench seat in black and cream vinyl with vertical fluted stitching, matching door trims both sides, roof lining panels, floor carpet, gear boot and boot lining. Every panel custom made to suit the body of the car. 🤩

The two-tone black and cream keeps it classic hot rod but clean — no fuss, just sharp. The chrome detail on the door handles and roof panel really sets it off against the black vinyl. This one's going to turn heads inside and out. 🙌

The brief was for seating that looked the part in a modern commercial space, and the blush pink vinyl with vertical channel stitching delivers exactly that — soft, stylish and built to handle the daily wear and tear of a busy venue. 💪

The HT Monaro is one of Australia's most iconic muscle cars and these seats needed to be done properly. The reproduction Antique Gold is a period-correct colour choice that just works beautifully on this car — warm, rich and unmistakably era-appropriate. The combination of the smooth Roebuck bolster with the textured insert panel gives the seats real depth and character, finished off with vertical fluted stitching throughout. 🥇

The detail in this material combo is something else up close — you really have to see it in person to appreciate the craftsmanship. These are going to look absolutely stunning back in the car. 🙌

This is the kind of detail that makes a build. Anyone can trim a door in black vinyl — but carrying the red from the bodywork through onto the trim with an embedded lightning bolt design takes it to another level. The trim is built to suit the door exactly, with the flash positioned to catch the eye the moment you open the door. 😍
