The router runs most days doing this. Labels and brackets machined straight out of the alloy for one van, then saved as a file so we can cut the same part again in three years when something needs replacing.

Stickers do not last in a work van. They lift, they fade, and the first wash down takes half of them. Cut it into the panel and it is still there when the van gets traded.

Nobody asks for this in a quote. It is just the bit that means your setup still makes sense when someone new is driving it.

Business in the front... operations in the back

Operations live down the back of the van. The deep rear section runs shelving down one side and slide-out machinery down the other, with room left to work between them. The awning folds out above and expands the usable space again, covered ground behind the van as well as inside it.

Doors stay open while you work out in the elements. The computers and screens sit up the other end off the side door, in the air con, well out of it.

Clear sectioning, and every inch of the space doing something.

One of the best parts of this job is meeting the people who end up using the build.

This one went to the crew at P&M Galea. We spent a good while going through it with them before it left us, because a fitout only works if the team using it knows why everything sits where it does. Plenty of questions, plenty of good ones!

And it usually does not end at handover - we look forward to an ongoing partnership with this crew.

Flick one switch and the back of this van turns into an office.

That is the idea behind the whole build. Whatever you run out of your van, monitoring systems, cameras, drones, photography gear, survey equipment, and more - the power side of it is our problem to solve. Tell us what needs running and for how long and we will work out what it takes. Most people come to us with no idea what their setup actually needs, which is fine, that is the part we know best.

This one runs a full computer system, two monitors, a fridge and air conditioning, with room for plenty more. Behind it sits a Victron setup with lithium batteries, a 3000W inverter, DC to DC charging that tops up while you drive and solar on the roof for when you are parked up. It is all fused, isolated and labelled through the one panel, so the person using it day to day never has to think about any of it.

Working somewhere remote with deliverables due, the van becomes your office and your creature comforts in the same trip. Storage, bench and drawers wrap around the power system so nothing is fighting for space.

Tell us what you do and we will figure out the rest.

Another all electric Kia PV5 out the door, and one very happy owner picking it up!

He'd been searching for someone who would take on an electric van fitout. Lucky for him, we had one mid-build in the workshop he could walk through on the spot.

Flooring on these electric platforms is becoming familiar territory for us, and the custom wheelarch boxes carry the shelving while leaving him a solid flat top to sit on or work off at the doors.

The side door access is our personal favourite. Every storage solution he needs, right where he's standing.

Come visit our workshop!

Another Kia PV5 through the workshop, with three more electric vans lined up behind it.

EVs need a different approach. The batteries run under the floor, so we reworked how we do the flooring to keep it strong and properly fixed without touching the battery pack underneath. The wheel arches are trickier to work around as well, so the shelving is built to suit them instead of losing the space.

This one is a simple two shelf setup, enough to keep everything tidy and secure on the road, with every inch of usable space still there.

Electric vans are only going to become more common and if you need a team who's across them give us a call.

We got WeightCheck Mobile Caravan & Vehicle Weighing in to put this CCTV van on the scales, and the numbers came back exactly where we wanted them.

When you're working mobile you carry a lot of gear and it adds up fast. Get the distribution wrong and the van ends up overweight, uneven, and fighting you the whole shift. Balance it properly and it sits level, handles well, and still drives as if it was empty.

The other half of it is space. Plenty of builds hit their weight targets by cramming everything low and tight. This one has the balance and a layout the crew can actually work out of.

We've done enough of these to know where the weight needs to sit. Any industry, any gear.

Not every job waits for daylight.

The light system on this van turns the area around it into a lit work zone, running off the van’s own power. No streetlights, no site lighting, no waiting for daylight. Wherever the van pulls up, the crew can see what they’re doing.

Back in the Workshop, Back Out the Door

This Veolia CCTV pipeline inspection van rolled back in recently. Some equipment needed replacing, so we sorted it, checked over the rest of the fitout while we had it, and dropped it back to the team personally with another walkthrough.
That's how it works when we build your van. Same team, same workshop, whenever you need us. You're not starting from scratch with someone who's never seen the build, you're a phone call away from the people who put it together.
