Another one diagnosed and fixed. 🔧
This Sea-Doo RXP-X 255 came into the workshop with a frustrating issue—good oil pressure when cold, but as soon as the engine reached operating temperature, the oil pressure would drop and trigger warnings.
After a full inspection and diagnosis, the cause was traced back to previous mechanical work. The oil pressure relief valve had been damaged during assembly, allowing oil to bypass once it became hot and thinner. Cold oil masked the problem, but as the engine warmed up, oil pressure fell away.
A new relief valve was fitted, the lubrication system was checked from top to bottom, and the ski now maintains correct oil pressure from cold start through to full operating temperature.
This is why proper diagnosis is so important. Throwing parts at a problem rarely fixes it—the right diagnosis does.
