Made another quick trip to Stanthorpe today with my other instructor, Bronwyn. Had to pick up the manual car down there and bring back to Warwick.
So grateful Bronwyn gave up her time to come with me and drive it back - so it’s only fair we dropped in at the Big Apple (Vincenzos cafe) at Thulimbah for a cuppa and a scone. Yummy 😋

So a bit of a mixed day, sad and happy - as we completed our final boat and pwc course.
We were so lucky to have a lovely family complete their course with us today. 😊
Andrew and I, have been so blessed in the last 20 years to have great students/customers.

Although we are sad, our boat licensing/training story is closing, we are also happy that a new chapter in our life is starting.

Thank you to our 7 kids who have supported us over the years - your assistance and help loading the boat and pwc has been invaluable.
We are so grateful. 😊

Winter in Warwick when you work weekends can be magical!
I’ll miss those frosty, foggy mornings on the way out to the dam to work.
As we approach the final weekend of boat licensing, before we close, I am reminded of all the amazing customers we have had over the years, it has been a pleasure to assist you on your boat licensing journey’s.

Hi everyone just a reminder that if you have completed your online learning component of your boat/pwc you need to advise me asap - text is fine - so I can find a space to complete the exam and practical part of your course, before we close on the 30th of this month - (30/6/26)

We will be closing the online portal to new students at the end on Monday 8/6/26, to allow us to complete the students that have done their online learning.
(Please note that you will not be able to purchase a gift certificate.)

After almost 20 years in the boat licensing business, Melinda and I have made the tough decision to cease trading in this industry at the end of June.
We are facing rising costs and a stupid pricing war from other trainers. We have felt the effect of this in our customer numbers, and we are not joining their race to the bottom of the barrel.
If they want to work for nothing, so be it, but we won't be. Running boats and jetski's and vehicles isn't cheap, and don't get me started on insurance costs.
It's time to take back our weekends as well and live a little.
Since July 2026 we have met about 8,000 people who we have helped with their boat licence journey and 99.999 percent of them have been awesome people. We thank all of you.
We also need to thank our kids for helping out so much and making this such a success. Truly, we couldn't have done this without your sacrifice.
Sam, Dan, Amy, Angus, Ben, Josh and Isaac. Thanks guys.
We will continue to run our driving school in Warwick and Stanthorpe, just no more boats and jetskis.

Come June, we will shut the portal down and cease taking any more bookings because I want to finish up before the end of the financial year. After then, the boat goes on the market too.

What’s the old saying Andy? Red sky at night….Sailors delight. Red sky at morning sailor take warning. As the sunrise sky was really only a bit orange, we’ll still be heading out for a little bit of training this morning. We started exams, early so there’s only light rain about at the moment. Still a lovely out there! 🛥️ Be safe if you’re out on the water and wear your life jackets! 😊

A little bit of rain on your exam and practical training day to finish of your course, means you’re keeping those sunny 🌞 days for your recreational boating. 😁

We’ve been back from holidays for a couple of weeks. Working hard to fit in those customers who had completed their online learning before Christmas.
After a successful boat training organisation BTO and boat training provider BTP renewal process with Queensland, Transport and Maritime safety Queensland, we are ready to book students in for the New Year. (Some are already in)
We do have a couple of courses with a few spaces available before New Year on 29/12/25 and 30/12/25.
So if you’re trying to get your boat/pwc licence in before the New Year, by all means feel free to complete the online learning component on our website and drop me a text on 0414 182 182 so I can advise of any availability. (Completing the online learning is a prerequisite to booking the exam and training day)
As always, QT and MSQ set the rules on student numbers for any one training day.

Hi all, just letting you know we are now fully booked for the pre Christmas Boat and PWC course exam and practical days, with the customers who have completed their online learning in the last couple of days. (As per QLD Transport’s busibess in tegards to course numbers)

If you require a boat and or PwC licence please be aware there will be no availability for exams and practicals until the New Year, unless - we get cancellations.
