BIGFOOT WRAP-UP: THE WEEK THAT WAS, THE YEAR THAT STARTED IT! 🐾🔥
Well, that's a wrap! Round 3 of Ultra4 Australia is done, run and won, and now the work begins for next year! 😅
As most of you know, I dabble a little bit in the Ultra4 world...
Behind the scenes, I run the website, do a few of the social media posts and occasionally, when I absolutely have to, actually talk to people. 😂
On the ground, I attend every track-building day (so if you've ever found yourself questioning your life choices halfway through one of those insanely stupid sections that you end up loving, you're welcome! 🤣), try to get along to as many social meetups as possible to promote the sport, and generally do everything I can to push Croppy and Mel to new heights and help make this sport the best it can possibly be.
Why? Because I bloody love this sport, and more importantly, I love the incredible people who make it what it is.
With the 2026 season all but wrapped up, there's still a few thousand photos to process, results and rankings to update on the website, and a few other bits and pieces to sort out. But after that, it's time to take a breath and reflect on what has been one hell of a journey.
And honestly? I've bloody loved every minute of it.
Don't get me wrong, I've had my moments this year where I've wondered whether what I'm doing is actually making a difference. Whether all the hours, the effort, the behind-the-scenes work and the sacrifices are actually moving the needle.
But after the week that was Round 3, I reckon I can confidently say that 2026 has been a bloody successful year! And that's thanks to a whole bunch of people who deserve a massive shout-out.
🔥 DAVID & MELISSA — CROPPY & THE BOSS LADY 🔥
Absolute legends. The pair of you accept me for all my flaws, encourage me to push boundaries and constantly challenge me to think bigger.
Somewhere along the way, that bloke with 20-plus years of experience around offroad race tracks, who was often too shy to put his ideas forward, has found the confidence to speak up, push racers to new limits and help wrangle other media people into covering what I genuinely believe is an incredible event.
You've given me the opportunity to do more than just stand on the sidelines with a camera. You've allowed me to be part of the bigger picture, help shape things and contribute to where this sport is heading.
It's been an absolute honour working alongside you both, and I'm bloody proud of what we're building together.
Thank you for the trust, the opportunities, the challenges and for putting up with me along the way! 😂❤️
🔥 BRENDON, AMANDA & CLINTON — THE BSW PRECISION CREW 🔥
You three are fu***ng awesome. Plain and simple.
From the moment I first met Brendon and Amanda outside a BCF in Warwick, we've just clicked.
When Croppy and I initially approached Brendon about coming onboard as a sponsor, he basically turned around and became a whole lot more than that. He stepped up as a recovery guy, and by Round 2, he was out there helping push tracks, break in new lines and donating his time, energy, knowledge and expertise to make things happen.
And the support hasn't stopped there.
Brendon has contributed so much financially and practically to Ultra4 over the past year. We've since brought BSW Precision Automotive Accessory Fitting onboard as a sponsor, and honestly, when you look at everything this bloke has helped make happen, it's hard to put a value on it.
Signposts, generators around camp, wired-up showers, trailers, vehicles and countless other jobs that need doing behind the scenes — so much of it wouldn't happen without him.
But Brendon couldn't do all of that without his much better half, Amanda.
This amazing woman has helped make sure everyone had clean toilets and showers, while also running around with the dust suppression trailer keeping campsites under control. That's a mountain of work that most people never see, but every single person at the event benefits from it.
And then there's Clinton.
The bloke who apparently just had to tag along! 🤣
But seriously, this guy works his arse off. For the last two rounds, he's pretty much been responsible for screwing in every arrow, jumping into action whenever something needed doing, and helping design and bring the dust suppression trailer system to life.
He saw what needed to happen, got stuck in and helped make it work.
Clinton, you were exactly the right person to have onboard, and we're bloody lucky to have you.
To all three of you, thank you. Not just for what you've done, but for the way you've thrown yourselves into this sport and backed what we're trying to achieve.
Ultra4 is better because of people like you. ❤️
🔥 TO EVERYONE WHO HELPED BUILD OUR TRACKS 🔥
This one deserves its own massive shout-out!
To every single person who gave up their weekends before each round to get out there and help us cut in tracks at all the locations we've raced this year — THANK YOU!
Whether you were behind the wheel of a machine, swinging a tool, clearing a line, moving dirt, walking the course or just jumping in wherever you were needed, your time and effort helped make these events happen.
Track building is a massive job. It's long days, hard work, plenty of sweat and a whole lot of people giving up their own time so that come race weekend, our drivers have somewhere epic to put these machines to the test.
And let's be honest, some of those sections don't build themselves! 😂
It takes a team to make this happen, and every single person who has put their hand up to help has played a part in what we've achieved this year.
We don't just work together. We do it better. We have a FAMILY! ❤️🔥
That's what makes Ultra4 special, and I reckon it's something worth being bloody proud of.

Now here's a bloke who's been on one hell of a journey!
From retired navigator and racer, to sponsor, and now Production Manager for Ultra4 Australia.
We gave this man an idea, and he absolutely ran with it.
Two rounds in, and he's got multiple cameras set up, managed to wrangle his two older brothers into tagging along, and is absolutely bloody killing it!
I had to get home earlier than expected due to a family emergency, but with a little time up my sleeve, I got the chance to sit down and watch the live feed.
Dude... you're going to absolutely smash this!
You've just taken Ultra4 Australia onto another platform, and I honestly couldn't be prouder to work alongside you and watch this all come together.
This is exactly what I've dreamed of seeing for Ultra4.
For too long, grassroots offroad racing can be overlooked or treated as though it's just a bunch of people playing in the bush. What we're building now shows that this sport deserves to be taken seriously.
We've got a professional crew producing epic action, putting our race teams on the big screen, showcasing the incredible people behind the wheel and giving our sponsors exposure on a whole new level.
And that's just the beginning.
Matt, I can't thank you enough for the time, effort and passion you've poured into this. You've taken an idea and turned it into something real, and I cannot wait to see what you bring to the table next year.

Now, how could I wrap up this season without giving a massive shout-out to Carly and the Hooked 4x4 Crew?!
First up, MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS, CARLY! 👏👏👏
After what was a devastating start to the year, rolling at the Offroad Outlaws 4x4 Enduro, Carly could have packed it in and called it a day.
Instead, she pulled up her sleeves, got stuck in, rebuilt the car and came back swinging!
And what happened next?
She didn't just come back. She went on to win not one, but TWO rounds of Ultra4 Australia!
Carly is now the official Radius Fabrication QUEEN OF AUSTRALIA! 👑🏆
What an incredible comeback, and what a bloody awesome story.
That's the spirit of offroad racing right there. Things don't always go to plan, sometimes you get dealt a seriously rough hand, but it's what you do next that counts.
Carly, the Hooked 4x4 Crew and everyone who's helped get that car back out there — take a bow. You've given us one hell of a story to finish the season with, and you should be incredibly proud of what you've achieved.
From a rollover at the start of the year to taking home the crown after six hours of racing. You couldn't script it much better!

The racers give us the action. The sponsors help make it possible. The volunteers make the events happen. The fans bring the atmosphere. And the families? They're the ones who often sacrifice just as much behind the scenes to make sure everyone else can be there.
Every single one of you matters.
Ultra4 Australia isn't just about who crosses the finish line first, who takes home a trophy or who gets crowned King or Queen.
It's about the people, the friendships, the teamwork, the memories and the community that keeps showing up, round after round.
It's about a bunch of people who believe in something and are willing to roll up their sleeves, get dirty and make it happen together.
It takes a team to make things happen. We do it better. We have a FAMILY! ❤️🔥
And as for Bigfoot?
Well, I've still got thousands of photos to process, a website to update, results to publish and a whole heap of ideas rattling around in my head for next year. 😂
But looking back at what we've achieved in 2026, I reckon we're heading in the right direction.
