Your spare tyre is easy to forget about… until you’re stuck on the side of the road and actually need it. 🛞😬

Usually tucked away under the floor of your boot, spare tyres can slowly lose pressure over time without you even realising.

A few things worth checking:
🛞 Is the spare actually holding air?
💨 Is it inflated to the correct pressure?
📅 How old is the tyre?
🔧 Is the jack and wheel-changing equipment there and usable?

A little service-day tip too: if your spare is located under the boot floor, clearing out your boot before bringing your car in makes it much easier for our mechanics to access and check it as part of the service. 🙌

It only takes a little preparation, but you’ll be very glad you checked it if you ever need it!

There’s more to tyre condition than just tread depth. Tyre age matters too — rubber deteriorates over time, even if the tyre still looks like it has plenty of tread left.

Keep an eye out for:
🛞 Cracks, bulges or signs of delamination
📏 Uneven or excessive tread wear
💨 Incorrect tyre pressures
📅 Tyre age and date codes
⚠️ Changes in vibration, handling or road noise

And if your tyres are due for replacement, Killarney Autos can take care of the lot 🔧

Here’s a pretty good example of new vs overdue 😬

Your air filter helps keep dirt, dust and debris out of your engine, while your cabin filter helps keep the air coming through your vents cleaner.

When they’re clogged, they can:
🛠️ Restrict airflow to your engine
💨 Reduce airflow through your A/C and heater
⛽ Affect performance and fuel efficiency
🤧 Let more dust and nasties into the cabin
