How cool is that!!!!

Our PB lap at WTAC was broadcast for pretty much the entire lap. To have one of the biggest laps I’ve driven caught from start to finish is something I’ll definitely remember for a long time.

One thing I also wanted to mention about the stickers on the car. They’re there because I wanted to show support back to the people and companies who supported me, helped this build come together and genuinely wished us well. I’m proud to have their names on the car.

EXEDY Australia for the Ballistic Tuff clutch. This thing has copped everything we’ve thrown at it and just keeps doing its job.

Shockworks for the suspension package and, more importantly, the trackside support and help getting this car working underneath me.

Denstoj Auto Centre for the rocker retainers and the level of after sales support. A great product from people who actually stand behind what they sell.

Motul @ DC Oceanic for keeping the car protected with their range of lubricants through some pretty serious track abuse.

Pro Speed Racing for supplying such a huge amount of the parts that went into this build and always helping us get what we needed.

Daniel Truong while the selection of colour for the sticker wasn’t ideal. Dan has been my go to anything WTAC related. From helping me get my s**t together, to being someone I can rely on if I’m in a pickle. With all the achievements Dan has accomplished this weekend. He always had time for me ❤️

And of course, Parramatta Vehicle Services .

Kaz, Tyler, Jez, Ryan and Tee. The effort you guys put into this car and into me as a driver has been massive. Tyler especially has spent countless hours helping me understand the car, build confidence and get the most out of the package.

This lap wasn’t just mine. It was for the whole team.

And lastly, Lils Roadside Bakery aka my wife 😂

Probably my biggest supporter of all. Holding down the business, looking after both kids and keeping everything moving while I disappear to the track and chase lap times.

At this rate we might have to paint the car pink next year and cover it in cupcakes 😂

None of this happens without the people behind it. Pretty bloody cool to have this lap captu

World Time Attack Challenge done and dusted.

We came in with a few personal goals. I wanted a 1:39 and to top the BRZ/86 group. We got so close to both, but more importantly we achieved exactly what we set out to as a team be fast, consistent and reliable.

Thursday practice gave us a huge confidence boost. We decided to simulate a Saturday morning PB run in the middle of the day and nailed a 1:41.05.

Friday started strong until a driveshaft failure ended our first session. That hurt because the opening session is usually the best track window. From there we battled a boost control issue and eventually made the call to drive the car back to the workshop.

The boys then pulled an all nighter to get it sorted. I got home around 4am and was back up at 6:30, while Ethan Tyler and my cousin were sleeping on the workshop floor at 5am to make sure the car was back in pit lane by 7.

Saturday, running on about two hours sleep, I felt like I owed it to the team to deliver. I gave it everything I had and managed a 1:41.09, improving on Friday by around half a second. With the conditions we had, I honestly don’t think I had much more in me.

From struggling for pace last year to now consistently knocking on the door of the 1:39s on a road tyre, in what is still essentially a road car with a cage, is something I’m incredibly proud of.

We completed more laps than any other BRZ/86, got screen time for our sponsors and, after two days of punishment, drove the car home. No trailer.

The build up to WTAC took a lot out of me and my family. Our new business has taken off, life has been hectic, and most of this car was built in my garage between work, family and late nights.

That’s why this means so much. I’m so proud that a car built my Son and carrying his name performed the way it did.

A massive thank you to Tyler and the crew at Parramatta Vehicle Services, Ethan, Angelo, and every friend and family member who turned spanners, stayed late, gave advice, helped with the kids and supported this dream of mine. And all our supporters and sponsors. Your components helped build this car

This one is for the DIYers the backyard builders and everyone chasing lap time with more passion than budget.

World Time Attack Challenge bringing the heat today, literally.

Only three sessions on practice day, but we took something valuable away from every one of them. The heat threw up some interesting track conditions, but we adapted, drove to what the car was giving us and managed to find some solid gains throughout the day.

The poker faces are starting to drop and everyone’s beginning to show their hand. 👀

Practice is done. Tomorrow the clock starts.

Let’s see what we can do 💪💪💪💪.

Good luck to all fellow competitors and stay safe…

Two test days, two completely different conditions, and probably the most valuable running we’ve had with the car all year.

The wet session gave us the chance to really understand the chassis in low grip. With the car constantly moving around underneath me, we could feel where the balance was, how it transitioned under load and what the rear was doing once we started approaching the limit.

The following day we rolled into an open pit lane with dry conditions and no real expectation other than to validate everything we had changed.

With Chris from Shockworks going over the suspension before the open pit lane, we were able to make another big step with the platform.

New PB.
New personal best trap speed.
And most importantly, a big increase in confidence through the high speed sections.

Turn 1 has been one of the biggest benchmarks for me this year. Comparing the data to earlier in the season, before all the major suspension, geometry and aero changes, we’re now carrying more speed on entry and more minimum speed through the corner while the car feels considerably more settled.

The aero is working too, which is probably one of the most satisfying parts of this whole process. A lot of it was built by us, with plenty of help from family, long nights in the shed and a fair bit of trial and error. To finally see it producing a result on track and giving me confidence at speed is something I’m genuinely proud of.

Tyler and the crew at Parramatta Vehicle Services have built an absolute animal of a car.

Touch wood, across the last three test days the only reliability issue we’ve had was a loose skid plate on the splitter. Mechanically, the car has just kept turning laps, taking everything we’ve thrown at it and giving me exactly what I’ve been asking for.

At this point the car is doing its job.

Now I just need to show up next week and do mine.

Still keeping the lap time quiet for now, but we’re heading into World Time Attack Challenge with a lot more confidence than we had a few weeks ago.

Our Roman Motorsport x PVS Tuning World Time Attack Challenge Clubsprint contender is finally starting to look the part.

Full aero package on, sitting in a very soggy Sydney Motorsport Park after another all nighter getting everything finished.

Massive shoutout to my father-in-law, our resident master fabricator, for putting in the hours with me and helping turn all the ideas into something real.

There have been a lot of late nights, stressful days and moments where it felt like the list would never get shorter, but it’s all starting to come together.

10 days to go.

The pieces are falling into place. Now it’s time to finish the job and see what this thing can do. 🏁

Completing the SME jigsaw puzzle

From the turbo all the way to the rear bumper, our exhaust system is now exclusively SME craftsmanship.

Fun fact, our turbo kit was actually the genesis of SME’s FA24 kits. The original prototype was first developed and tested on the Parramatta Vehicle Services development car before eventually becoming the production kit available today.

Pretty cool knowing we’ve been running something that helped pave the way for the FA24 platform, and it says a lot about the quality of gear SME continue to build.

Now with the full exhaust setup complete, there’s only one thing left to do…

🔥 Shoot some flames. 🔥

Pretty proud to have EXEDY Australia on the car heading into World Time Attack.

A couple of seasons ago we were running a competitor twin plate clutch and managed to destroy multiple gearboxes. Since changing over to the EXEDY Ballistic Tuff single plate, we haven’t broken a gearbox.

That says a lot considering the car now makes over 600Nm and gets driven hard both on the street and at the track.

What I love about the Ballistic Tuff is that it doesn’t feel like some horrible race clutch you have to put up with just because the car makes power. It’s still easy to drive on the street, has a nice pedal feel, but when it’s time to lean on it, it holds everything we throw at it.

We’ve been using this clutch for two seasons now because it works, long before there was any support or stickers on the car.

So having EXEDY get behind our WTAC campaign, send through some merch and put their name on the car genuinely means a lot. There’s something pretty cool about representing a brand whose product you were already choosing and trusting yourself.

Massive thank you to the team at EXEDY Australia for the support.
