Datsun cold air intake system.

After a fair bit of R&D work I have finally completed my first cold air intake system for, in this case an L4 Datsun motor with twin 45mm Webers in an early Datsun Stanza. The kit allows for cold air to be drawn in from the openings in the radiator support panel. Rather than sucking in hot air from the radiator and off the extractors. In this case I was able to make it use existing openings behind the inner headlight. Other models may require additonal holes to be cut in the radiator support panel.

The kit includes:
*A custom fabricated air box with 102mm inlet and removable lid. All 1.5mm aluminium.
*A 1.5mm aluminium extractor heat shield.
*Zircoflex heat reflective film to cover the base of the air box and the heat shield. Zircoflex claims a heat reduction of up to 85% with this film.
*A custom designed and 3D printed air collecter for the fire wall. This is printed in tough heat resitant ABS plastic.
* 102mm silicon air ducting.
* Mesh screen.

Please note, this particular heat shield has been bent and shaped to suit Stewart Wilkins extractors and a copy of the Datrally style inlet manifold.

Hopefully the car owner will send it back to the engine builder at some stage soon to see what performance increase has / can been made.
