Worth knowing before you hit your next pothole we have many with all the recent rains… New tyres aren’t pothole-proof, but tyres in good condition and inflated correctly give your vehicle the best chance of absorbing the impact safely. Worn tyres can also make it harder to avoid the pothole in the first place.
In wet-weather testing, tyres worn to around 3.2 mm:
⚠️ Took approximately 26.5 metres longer to stop from 97 km/h
⚠️ Had 33% less handling ability
⚠️ Were still travelling at around 64 km/h when the vehicle on new tyres had already stopped!
Tyre pressure, age, sidewall condition and tyre profile all make a difference too. Not sure how your tyres are holding up? Call in and let the team check them for you.
