Celebrity Corvette Week - Day 7

Here it is...the last of the celebrity week special, and who better to finish us off than the quintessential celebrity who demonstrated that celebrity status is fleeting and being typecast can finish you off just as fast.

He once ruled the galaxy and found out his greatest adversary was his father and even managed to kiss his sister! But being a Skywalker can be very confusing at times. We introduce Mark Hamill.

While traipsing around the galaxy was fun and adventurous, we believe he enjoyed himself more behind the wheel of an unforgettable Corvette in the 1978 cult classic Corvette Summer, rather than driving the Millennium Falcon. It's probably a toss up though between the C3 and the V-Wing fighter!

The film follows a young mechanic who becomes obsessed with tracking down his stolen and highly customized 1973 Corvette, an over-the-top machine featuring a distinctive custom front end, flared fenders, and dramatic side pipes.

We get it too, I wouldn't rest till I found my pride & joy!

Celebrity Corvette Week - Day 6

If your an iconic car that has made a name by being driven by the world's most famous celebrity's, then it's a must-have to be seen with this iconic behemoth.

He is credited for making the action hero movie a box office staple and has risen from eating humble strudels and sauerkraut in an Austrian town that looks like a scene from The Sound of Music, to marrying US aristocracy and making steroids fashionable. It's the lovable Arnie!!!

Before he was the Terminator and the Governator, Arnold Schwarzenegger owned a beautiful yellow steel bumper C3 that would have had poor 100ft launch times with that extra 200kgs in the cockpit.

But I bet your all asking the same question we are. I wonder how he fit in that thing!

Celebrity Corvette Week - Day 5

In an era of crazy taste when things like disco music, flared jeans and afro's on white men were considered fashionable, probably due to the quality and abundance of experimental drugs during halcyon years of the 70's, this one fits right in the sweet spot.

This 1970 Corvette was built for Farrah Fawcett by the famous car customiser George Barris. Plus points for the color and proper transmission; minus points for s**g carpeting and the headlights. Imagine driving and trying to dial a number on your mobile rotary phone!!

Is this the kind of Corvette that becomes a collectible? In the famous words of Austin Powers: "Yeah, baby, yeah!"

Celebrity Corvette Week - Day 4

This one is for the younger set. The early 2000's culture was largely driven by one famous family who, in all honesty, seemed to be bat-sh*t crazy to the rest of us 'normies' who went about their daily business.

This family was responsible for the popularity of reality TV and having babies with sporting & music icons. The Kardashians. While we may look at them with mystified inquisitiveness, we can't fault their taste in cars. Kylie Jenner, a media personality in her own right, billionaire beauty entrepreneur, and social media icon looks stunning in an equally stunning C1 convertible finished in a cascade (aqua/turquoise) green paint job, complemented by a white side cove.

Celebrity Corvette Week - Day 3

Not so much a celebrity as M.J. is, but his name is still recognisable on every corner of planet earth, and more than likely on the moon!

Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon, drove a custom Marina Blue 1967 Corvette Sting Ray C2.

Here are the key details of the car and how he got it:

Armstrong leased the car through a special $1-per-year astronaut lease program negotiated by Indy 500 winner and Florida Chevrolet dealer Jim Rathmann. This program allowed astronauts to drive a brand new Corvette every year. Armstrong’s C2 Sting Ray was a 427-cubic-inch V8, packing 390 horsepower with a four-speed manual transmission.

After Armstrong traded it for a 1968 model, the car was purchased by a NASA employee. It is now carefully preserved, retaining its original engine and Marina Blue paint, and has been featured on display at the National Corvette Museum.

Yesterday was the greatest wrestler. Today is the greatest athlete to ever lace up a shoe. He inspired a generation of kids to play ball and transcended the sport he dominated for decades. He goes by the moniker of "His Airness", Air Jordan or simply, M.J. What can't be disputed, he is the G.O.A.T. There is really is no-one else quite like Mike.

Michael Jordan's Ruby Red 1993 Corvette ZR-1 from "The Last Dance" is now on display at the National Corvette Museum. One of the most iconic Corvettes from one of the most iconic eras in sports history.
