Probably not well known but here at Great Lakes Radiators I not only repair Radiators but also Fuel tanks.

This one is out of an old Falcon that came in for a pressure test with one obvious leak.
Knowing that fuel tank leaks mostly begin from internal rust I wire wheeled all of the low points on the tank to show any other week points that were were not leaking at the time but would have become a problem in the not too distant future.
This revealed quite a few more leaks so I soldered them up saving the customer time, money and inconvenience by fixing the leaks that hadn't actually started yet.
Stay safe.
Cheers
Glenn.

Well I've had the old Courier ute tidied up the with a fresh coat of paint, a tray, ally box and sign writing.
So happy with the way it turned out. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘

The workshop is ticking away nicely even with a workload drop which is normal for this time of year so if you have any cooling system issues there's a good chance I can sort them even faster than normal.
There's a couple of pic's there of some very recent jobs that have come through the shop.
A small tractor desperately needed a clean out due to internal blockage. Before and after water flow rate is obvious in the last pic's.

There's also an old F350 radiator I recored for a customer from well out of this area, gotta love it when someone will travel quite a distance to bring a job specifically for me to do.

I still do all the sales recores, repairs and servicing of the older brass radiators as well as the later model plastic/aluminium ones.

Stay safe everyone and remember, Summer will come back around so come in and get your cooling systems flushed, fresh coolant added and full system check up before it becomes a problem.

Prevention is better than cure.

Cheers
Glenn.

Aside from the CAT Dozer I've had a real infux of industrial sized radiators in the last couple of weeks.
The aluminium Oil Cooler was a full custom build made shorter to make refitting much easier.
The far more efficient aluminium allowed this unit to be fitted without removing so many other parts of the excavator.
Excavators, Dozers and large trucks seem to be coming in more often than usual possibly due to the rain these larger machines are unable to work so they're getting maintenance done during the down time.

Here's a CAT Dozer radiator I recently recored and also had a custom Top tank made for. The debris and mud that had built up over the years rusted the tank beyond reuse so a 4mm thick steel tank was fabricated to replace the original.
A full set of new bolts , new gaskets and tank had this radiator finished up like brand new.
A change of filler neck assembly made sure it was protected below the top frame ensuring it wouldn't get damaged.

All in all a very successful result.

I'll be back on deck 8am Monday morning and open as usual.
It's heartbreaking to see the devastating effects of the flood, the loss of lives, homes, businesses, livestock, pets and massive damage to infrastructure.
It will take a long time to recover from this one.

Thank you to all of the emergency services and residents that have put in such a huge effort so far.
Stay safe everyone.
Cheers
Glenn.

Another awesome Classic sorted.
This 1966 Mustang had overheating issues due to a blocked radiator and a thermo fan that was way too ineffective.

I did try to clean out the original radiator but the blockage in many tubes was too solid to remove so the best option was a replacement radiator.
To keep in the original classic style I fitted a full brass 3 row radiator.
Although not original a 16 inch HiFlow thermo fan was a perfect size match for the radiator and a serious upgrade from the previous thermo fan that was in use.
Thank you to Peter for trusting me with your Baby.
It was a pleasure to work on and you were a pleasure to deal with.
Cheers.
Glenn.
