Are you noticing your car being a little harder to start on these cold mornings?

You're not imagining it.

Cold weather places extra demand on your battery at the very time its performance is reduced. A battery that seemed perfectly fine a few months ago can suddenly begin to struggle once winter arrives.

Modern vehicles rely on a healthy battery for far more than simply starting the engine. If your vehicle is cranking slower than usual or you're noticing electrical systems behaving differently, it may be worth having it checked before you're left stranded.

A quick battery test can often identify a problem before it becomes an inconvenience.

A lot of things have changed over the years, winter putting batteries to the test isn't one of them.

This June, Ayres Automotive is proud to GO PINK in support of the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

As an official community supporter of NBCF’s GO PINK campaign, we’ll be donating a portion of every invoice closed throughout June directly toward breast cancer research.

Like many Australian families and businesses, we know breast cancer has touched the lives of people in our community. Supporting research that helps prevent, detect and treat breast cancer is something we’re honoured to be part of.

GO PINK brings communities together across Australia each June to help fund world-class research, all working toward NBCF’s vision of Zero Deaths from breast cancer.

So throughout June, every vehicle booked with us will help contribute to something far bigger than automotive repairs and servicing.

Thank you to our customers and community for helping us support a cause that means so much to so many.

Some vehicles earn their keep carrying weight.

They always have.

Long before modern utes and tourers, trucks worked hard hauling timber, machinery, livestock, fuel, tools and whatever else the job demanded. And just like today, suspension mattered.

If your vehicle spends its life towing, carrying heavy loads, travelling rough roads or working day in and day out, the right suspension setup can make all the difference.

At Ayres Automotive, we can advise on suspension upgrades suited to the way your vehicle is actually used, including GVM upgrades for vehicles that regularly operate under load.

Because carrying weight is one thing.
Carrying it properly is another.

Some vehicles spend more time on the road than they do in the driveway.

For cars and work vehicles that clock up plenty of kilometres, regular servicing becomes even more important. Keeping on top of maintenance helps reduce unexpected downtime and keeps everything running as it should.

At Ayres Automotive, we can work with you to plan a service and repair schedule that suits how your vehicle is actually used. For vehicles that rely on being on the road most days, a tailored approach can make all the difference.

If your vehicle is working hard and covering serious kilometres, it may be worth having a conversation about a maintenance schedule that keeps it dependable.

With the long weekend approaching, many caravans and tow vehicles will be heading for the road.

If you have a trip planned, now is a good time to make sure everything is ready before you leave. Brakes, suspension, wheel bearings, lights and towing systems all play a part in a safe and enjoyable trip.

Our workshop is currently taking bookings, but available spots before the long weekend are becoming limited. If your caravan or tow vehicle needs attention before you head away, we recommend getting in touch soon to secure a time.

A little preparation now can make the journey a lot more enjoyable.

Brake systems are one of the most important parts of any vehicle, but they often only get attention once something starts to feel wrong. A change in pedal feel, noise when braking, vibration through the steering wheel, or a warning light can all be early signs that your braking system needs inspection.

At Ayres Automotive we check the full braking system, including pads, rotors, calipers, hydraulic components and brake fluid condition. Regular inspections help ensure your vehicle stops as it should and can prevent small issues from turning into bigger repairs later on.

If your brakes don’t feel quite right, or it’s been a while since they were checked, it may be worth having them inspected.
