After 37 years in the caravan industry, Ian Grants Caravans is about to begin an exciting new chapter.
We would like to let our customers and friends know that Ian Grants Caravans and Essential Caravans have made the decision to move in different directions.
We have had a long and proud association with Essential Caravans, and on a personal level I’m extremely proud to have been one of the original founders of the company. We still have a great relationship with the team at Essential and genuinely wish them every success as they move into the next stage of their business.
Most importantly, to every customer who has purchased an Essential Caravan from Ian Grants Caravans you will continue to be looked after. Warranty, servicing and after-sales support will continue to be supported by both Ian Grants Caravans and Essential Caravans. Our commitment to our customers does not change.
For our customers who currently have an Essential Caravan on order, please be assured that your caravan will be built and supplied as planned. If you have any questions about your order, or would simply like to discuss it further, please give the team at Ian Grants Caravans a call. We are here to look after you and make sure you are kept informed every step of the way.
While Ian Grants Caravans and Essential Caravans are simply moving in different directions, for us it’s about looking forward and continuing to do what we believe in.

We want to build our caravans here in Australia, employ people here, support Australian suppliers and businesses wherever we can, and put money back into the communities and economy that have supported us for the past 37 years.
And that brings us to the next chapter of Drive RV.
I’m extremely excited to be teaming up once again with Dave Wilson. Between Dave and myself, we bring something that is quite unique in the caravan industry, many years of hands-on caravan manufacturing experience combined with decades of experience running a caravan dealership and dealing directly with customers.
We understand both sides of this industry.
We know what it takes to build a great caravan, but just as importantly, we know what happens after that caravan leaves the factory. We understand customers, dealers, warranty, servicing and after-sales support and we understand how important it is to give people genuine value for their hard-earned money.
Dave and I have done it before, and now we’re teaming up again.
With Drive RV, our goal is simple- to once again give Australians one of the best-value Australian-built caravans on the market.
After 37 years in this industry, I’m probably more excited about the future than I have ever been.
There are no hard feelings and no negativity. Essential Caravans and Ian Grants Caravans are simply choosing different paths for the future.
We thank Essential Caravans for the journey we have shared and genuinely wish them every success with their next chapter.
Now it’s time for ours.
