This Holden Clubsport came in with a few of the common oil leaks LS engines are known for — rear main seal, rocker cover gaskets, and sump gasket all leaking. We carried out the repairs and gave everything a thorough clean-up afterwards to ensure this Clubsport was all sealed up and ready to hit the road in confidence again

Another clean FGX Supercharged V8 through the workshop 🔥

This showroom-floor condition FGX came in almost completely standard, fitted only with an exhaust system, and laid down a solid 304rwkW & 791Nm before tuning.

Using the full flexibility of PCMTEC tuning, we were able to adjust the relief valve to sharpen low end boost response and maintain the factory boost value for more RPM in the rev range. Combined with further calibration refinements, this FGX rolled out making an impressive 367rwkW & 854Nm 💪🏻

A massive transformation in drivability and performance while retaining that factory refinement.

Last week we had a RB25DET-powered Skyline in the workshop for a NZ Wiring cam sensor upgrade and tune touch up 🔧🔥

This setup upgrades the factory RB CAS by fitting a modern VR sensor to the original cam gear. This gives the ECU a much cleaner and more stable signal compared to the ageing optical-style factory CAS.

The standard RB CAS units are known to become unreliable over time, especially on modified cars running aftermarket ECUs or higher boost. Signal noise and timing fluctuation can lead to misfires, unstable idle, hard starting, and inconsistent ignition timing.

By converting to a VR sensor, the ECU receives a far more accurate engine position signal, improving overall reliability and tuning consistency

Benefits of the upgraded cam sensor include:
✅ More refined ignition timing
✅ Improved idle quality
✅ Better signal stability at high RPM
✅ Reduced timing drift
✅ Improved ECU sync and tuning accuracy

A couple of recent inconol jobs through the workshop 🔥

We’ve been busy Inconel wrapping exhaust components for customers chasing improved heat management and performance gains. Every piece is wrapped with high-temp ceramic wool insulation and finished in Inconel for maximum durability in extreme conditions.

Why Inconel wrapping with ceramic wool?

✅ Massive reduction in radiant heat
✅ Keeps heat within manifolds to reduce energy loss promoting better turbo spool
✅ Protects surrounding components from heat soak
✅ Longer lasting and far more durable under extreme temperatures
✅ Cleaner, professional motorsport finish

Unlike traditional heat wrap, Inconel with ceramic wool doesn’t trap moisture against the exhaust, break down over time, or become brittle and ugly after a few heat cycles. This setup is in a completely different league when it comes to longevity, performance, and reliability.

Traditional heat wrap might work for a while… but this is the proper solution. 💪

Today we headed out to the DriveIt facility to watch one of our great customers, Andrew, take his 383 stroked LS-converted BMW out on track for the very first time with its new setup.

Andrew has put in a massive effort building this car himself, and we were stoked to help bring it all together a few months back with bedding in the new engine and tuning. Seeing it out there doing exactly what it was built for was something special.

Even better — Andrew came away with a new PB of 1:19.9 🔥

Next step? Time to step things up with a Haltech Engine Management system and start loading this thing up with sensors so we can really dial it in and chase even faster lap times. Aaaaaaand E85 is on the cards for a bit more horsepower once we can install a flex fuel sensor 🏁

Can’t wait to see where this build goes next.

This 2021 Kia Stinger GT rolled into the shop for some upgrades and a dyno tune🔥

First step — strap it on the dyno and see what we’re dealing with. The existing tune wasn’t too bad, but it definitely had more potential. The boost was lazy coming on, and it was running too much timing causing the vehicle to constantly run on knock re**rd.

We got to work fitting fresh dump pipes and a new exhaust mid section

Then we hit a wall… the ECU was locked by the previous tuner 🔒

Not the end of the road for us.

After a bit of effort, we bypassed the encryption, pulled the file, and flashed it back to stock so we could do things properly from scratch.

From there, it was all about doing it RIGHT:
✅ Clean, safe timing so the vehicle can always drive at peak torque
✅ Only +1psi of boost increase over its previous tune
✅ Smooth, consistent power delivery

The result? A Stinger that now hits hard, comes on boost faster and can run all day without drama 💪

This is how these cars should feel.

We’ve got a feeling this one isn’t done yet… bigger turbos and head studs might be on the cards 👀
