THE JONES TANK - A TIMELESS CHOPPER TANK

Born from the desire to have a tank closer in shape to the originals. Less of an 'egg' shape, tighter sides and ever so slightly narrowed for those tight lines on a bike.

These tanks are a labour of love. But one that I am proud of. The stamp inside the tunnel 'G-Wizz Cycles' gives me hope that in 50 years, I'll be seeing these at swapmeets. Remembering back to all the good times, bad times, and the just alright's.

WELDING A CUSTOM TRIUMPH PREUNIT RIGID OIL TANK

From CAD to PLA to Sheet Metal!

I modelled up this oil tank in Fusion 360. 3d printed it out of PLA to test fit on the build. Once I was happy with the fit up, I modelled the press dies up. Printed them out of PLA as well then pressed out the meet sheet panels.

In this clip, I am welding up the top and bottom panels for the oil tank. The tank is shaping up nice and came out great.

The back side of Finn's 52 Triumph.

Our chrome fender struts are perfect for Harley frames and ready to bolt on. But Triumphs have an offset rear end. So we took one of our standard chrome fender struts and tweaked the bends just a touch to get it fitting nicely.

If you want to add some classic chrome to your build but don’t have easy access to a local plating shop, these struts are the perfect solution. Ready to bolt up or slightly modify, look sharp, and add a little shine to your build..

Ryan Vintage Dreams approached me a little while back to do up some tin sets for some upcoming builds. The plan was to do some up and then send them down to Mitch Bailey to work his paint magic on them.

When we were talking he came up with the insane idea to do a polished steel set. Not chrome? Plenty of people already do that. He wanted polished steel and on top of that, then let Mitch work some of his magic over the polished steel.

I am beyond stoked to be a part of this awesome collaboration. There was a fair bit of work that went into these. The welds needed to be fully planished and wheeled smooth to prevent weld 'ghosting' that can happen when you polish a part up. Even after that I still had to polish them up to give that glass like finish.

MIG VS. TIG

If you're just starting to build your own custom motorcycle, choosing the right welder can be a little tricky. Do you go the speed and easy to use MIG welder, or commit to learning the precision and control of the TIG welder?
