KADCO RACING UPDATE
Our driver Kade Crawford started the Toyota Gazoo Racing Australia 86 Series season this year with a good clean run and climbed his way up to 15th Position in the series standings after the series opener at Bathurst in February. A great effort considering such a long time since he had been able to drive the car.
The team then travelled all the way to Winton for the 2nd round in May only to have the event cancelled last minute due to COVID which was very disappointing.
Kade raced at the Townsville NTI 500 event last weekend and was happy with his practice sessions on Friday. Unfortunately luck was not on his side on Saturday, another competitor which had had an incident on turn two, blocked his path and he had no where to go forcing a front on collision with him. Despite significant damage to the car, Kade was okay, a true testament of the safety features and safety equipment of these race cars. The team was obviously disappointed after looking forward to a good weekend of racing however the damage to the vehicle was not repairable in time for Sundays racing. With COVID lingering across the country, it's uncertain what the rest of the year brings for the team, we will have to wait and see.
Below is an interview with Kade, conducted earlier this year while at Bathurst.
