LONG DRIVE FOR DROUGHT 2026 🚙💨

We’re back on the road for another Long Drive For Drought!

Starting in Kenilworth, we’ll be travelling through Theebine, Burrum Heads, Bundaberg, Mount Perry, Rolleston, Taroom, Murgon and Blackbutt before finishing up in Kingaroy.

2,000+ km, plenty of hills, dirt, good mates and some pretty bloody good country — all for a cause that means a lot to us.

Long Drive For Drought brings together the 40 series community to raise much-needed funds and awareness for farmers and families affected by drought and other natural disasters across Queensland. Every dollar raised goes towards supporting those rural communities through Farm Angels.

So while we're out enjoying the drive, we'd love for you to get behind the cause too. ❤️

The funny thing about projects is they rarely stay projects. Give them enough time, enough kilometres, and enough late nights in the shed... and they become part of who you are.

Under the bonnet you'll find:

When we brought this ute into the family, it wasn't just a parts run rig—it became the beginning of our HJ75 product range.

Opening the door to countless hours of measuring, designing, fabricating, test fitting, refining, and doing it all over again until we were happy to put our name on it.

Every kilometre it's travelled has taught us something. Every trip has helped shape the products we now offer to fellow Landcruiser owners.

We don't just design parts for these old girls...
We build them for our own, live with them every day, and wouldn't ask our customers to run anything we wouldn't happily bolt onto The Soot Dog’s workshop ute ourselves.

The 40 Series is where it all started for us.

What began as a turbo manifold and a basic turbo kit for the old 2H has grown into a full range of products designed specifically for the iconic 40 series Landcruiser.

Over the years, we've added, improved, redesigned and tested products on vehicles that get used — because these old cruisers deserve more than generic, one-size-fits-all solutions.

For the 2H and 12HT-powered 40 Series range, we currently offer:
✔ 2H Turbo Kit
✔ 12HT Cast Exhaust Manifold
✔ Front Mount Intercooler Kit
✔ Airboxes (cylinder filter and panel filter) – 10+ options depending on application
✔ 4" Stainless Snorkels – ram head, rear-facing round cap and low-cut options
✔ 3.5" Stainless Turbo Back Exhaust Systems – cab dump and full-length systems, inside or outside chassis, PTO compatible, auxiliary tank options available, plus a single stack for those who like their trucks loud and proud
✔ Radiator Carriers (suit 600mm wide radiator)
✔ Fan Shrouds (HJ47 direct replacement) – others to come as well.
✔ Blower Fan Blank Plates
✔ Overflow Washer Bottle Brackets
✔ Battery Trays
✔ Side Steps / Sliders (currently suits inside chassis exhaust systems, with more options to come)
And we're currently working on a universal external engine oil cooler kit.

Much like the 40 series itself, none of this happened overnight.
These products are designed, fabricated and assembled right here in Australia, born from countless hours in the workshop, on the road and out in the bush.
You can observe these landcruisers in their natural habitat. Not parked on a showroom floor, but towing trailers, crossing paddocks, climbing tracks and collecting enough red dust to earn a respectful nod or a shaka from ya mate.
That's where our products are developed.

Somewhere deep within the Australian wilderness… roams a rare species of a 40 series Landcruiser owner.

This FJ45 converted 12HT has copped the full WNS treatment and is purpose-built to leave the bitumen firmly in the rear-view mirror.

We supplied and fitted the following:
✔ Our first prototype front mount intercooler kit
✔ HJ47 radiator carrier & fan shroud
✔ Passenger side cylinder filter airbox kit
✔ 4” stainless rear-facing snorkel in seamless texture black
✔ Custom 3.5” stainless turbo-back dual cab dump exhaust system
✔ Our 12HT one-piece cast exhaust manifold – one of the first samples
✔ Side steps featuring integrated battery tray/carrier
✔ External engine oil cooler setup
✔ Terrain Tamer parabolics

This rig wasn't built for shopping centre car parks or Sunday coffee runs.
It was built to tour, tow, and explore.
Josh does a serious amount of travelling, and we've had the pleasure of sharing a few trips with him over the years — including Long Drive For Drought.
Along the way, this old girl has clocked up plenty of kilometres, putting our products through real-world testing on highways, dirt roads, hot days, and towing duties.
It’s been the perfect test bed for our cast manifold and intercooler kit, allowing us to properly test, refine, and prove the setups in the conditions they were actually built for.
One thing we’ve found from our own testing and trips is that elevated engine oil temperatures can play a massive role in rising coolant temps — especially on hot days under load in turbo applications. That’s why fitting an external engine oil cooler can be a worthwhile upgrade for touring and towing setups.

Safe to say… Josh definitely didn’t tick “standard options only.” And you wouldn’t believe it, but there is more to come for this rig.

We now have the intercooler kits in production, all parts are finalized, jigs are made, and a full colour picture guide to go with it.

After a long time in design and development, our Whistle ‘n’ Soot Industries 12HT Cast Exhaust Manifolds are finally here.

Proudly designed and cast locally in Dalby, Queensland, Australia.
The factory 2-piece manifolds are well known for cracking and leaking at the join — so we designed ours as a heavy-duty one-piece cast manifold to eliminate those common issues.

✔ 100% Direct replacement for the OE Toyota 12HT exhaust manifold
✔ Split pulse design
✔ One-piece cast construction
✔ Suitable for 2H CT26 low-mount setups
✔ Australian designed & manufactured
✔ Optional Cerakote finish available

Each manifold comes supplied with:
• 4x turbo mounting studs
• 4x turbo mounting nuts

Optional extras also available:
• Exhaust manifold gaskets
• Additional studs & nuts
• Cerakote coating for improved heat & corrosion resistance

Please note:
Factory heat shielding is not compatible due to the manifold design and shape.
A few of these have already been released into the wild and the feedback so far has been unreal.
