Modern Volkswagens contain numerous interconnected computers and control modules that continue communicating even after the vehicle is switched off.

But our passion for exceptional engineering extends well beyond the European world.

This stunning Mazda RX-7 visited the workshop with a low oil pressure concern. While European vehicles are our bread and butter, our team also has experience working on iconic JDM platforms, including Mazda's legendary 13B rotary engine.

Every engine has its own quirks, characteristics and diagnostic approach, but the principles remain the same: understand the concern, test methodically, and let the evidence lead the diagnosis.

Above all, we have a genuine appreciation for the engineering that makes enthusiast vehicles so special.

Precision matters. Verification matters.

A timing belt replacement isn't complete simply because the new components have been installed.

On this Volkswagen Golf, we're using Volkswagen factory diagnostic equipment to dynamically verify camshaft timing while the engine is rotated by hand.

As the timing gears move, the live digital readout confirms the precise relationship between the camshafts and crankshaft—allowing us to validate that everything is exactly where Volkswagen intended it to be.

This extra level of verification helps eliminate guesswork and gives us confidence that the engine will perform as designed before it's even started.

Rough idle? Misfire faults? Poor fuel economy?

Many modern Volkswagen Group engines, including the Golf, Tiguan, Audi A3, Audi Q3 and many other direct-injection petrol engines, can suffer from carbon build-up on the intake valves over time.

Unlike older fuel systems, direct injection sprays fuel directly into the combustion chamber, meaning the intake valves never receive the natural cleaning effect of fuel passing over them.

The result can be stubborn carbon deposits that restrict airflow and upset combustion.

This example visited our workshop for replacement brakes. While the RS3's acceleration is impossible to ignore, delivering that performance safely and consistently relies on an equally capable braking system.
