Was hoping to have my zd30 head back on tonight but after double checking the intake ports I decided to whip out all the valves. Once out it became clear these will need a clean up and a lapping of the seats.

More progress on my gu 3l last night, block, crankshaft and pistons all cleaned up. New set of piston rings and all bolted back in with new bearings. Can not wait to hear this running again.

Yesterday morning I fitted up a red arc trailer brake kit along with an adventure kings 50amp Anderson plug kit. All completed within a few hours for this Nissan pathfinder 🙂

About 4 years ago I stripped down my nissan patrol zd30 engine with the plans of making sure it would be right for a trip to w.a.... after plans changed the engine has sat stripped down, its now time to get it back together and back in the car. Bit of surface rust from being in a shed not sealed from the elements has cleaned up easily. Next is to measure ring gap and oil clearances before cleaning all the parts and re assemble. Cannot wait to have my patrol back on the road 😀

Finished a timing chain replacement on a 1988 mercedes last week, first time for me having to cut the chain and feed the new one through. After replacement of chain and guides engine is now running in time and smooth.

Finished off the week with a land rover getting a pedders track Ryder 2 inch lift kit.
