We don’t all get dealt the same cards in life.

Some people grow up surrounded by love, others grow up surrounded by chaos, trauma and disappointment.

And while you can’t control the childhood you were given, you can take responsibility for the person you become.

Your past might explain your behaviour, but it doesn’t excuse it.

You can either continue the cycle or be the person who breaks it.

Especially when you become a parent.

Your children deserve the best version of you, not the damaged parts of your past passed down to them.

You might not have had the childhood you deserved, but you can damn well make sure your kids do❤️

BREAK THE CYCLE. DON’T BECOME IT👊

❤️ I DON’T JUST WANT TO BE THEIR DAD. I WANT TO BE THEIR SAFE PLACE.

One day, these little girls won’t be so little anymore, and all we’ll have left are the memories we’ve made.

But more than anything, I want to build a relationship with them that lasts a lifetime.

I want them to know they can come to Dad about absolutely anything. Their mistakes, their fears, their heartbreaks or even the things they’re scared to tell anyone else.

I never want my girls to be afraid of my reaction. I want them to feel safe enough to tell me the truth.

I’ll never be a perfect dad, but I’ll always be a present one.

Because raising my girls isn’t just about giving them a beautiful childhood full of memories.

It’s about making sure that even when they’re grown, Dad is still the person they know they can turn to❤️

One day, they won’t want to hold your hand everywhere you go.

One day, they won’t climb into your bed for cuddles.

One day, they won’t follow you from room to room or call out “Dad!” 500 times a day😂

And one day, you’ll wish you could have just one of those moments back.

So when your little ones are being extra clingy, remember this⬇️

You’re their safe place. Their comfort. Their protector. Their whole world❤️

They don’t care how much money you make, what car you drive or how successful you are.

They just want YOU.

I know life gets busy, and sometimes we all need a minute to ourselves.

But I’ll never forget that these little girls won’t be little forever.

One day, I’ll put them down for the very last time without even realising it🥹

So for now, I’ll take the cuddles, the interruptions, the little hands reaching for mine and hearing “Dad!” a thousand times.

Because being needed by my daughters is a privilege I’ll never take for granted❤️

To all the parents out there!

Don’t rush these moments. Don’t wish away the clinginess.

One day, the house will be quiet, and you’ll miss the noise❤️
