'By positioning flora as both instrument and ecosystem, Hana Denki proposes a contemporary reimagining of Japanese spatial practice - one that situates botanical composition within circuits of energy, frequency and collective experience. In this environment, nature does not merely symbolise life; it becomes electrically present, responsive and co-creative.'

Conductive Light Garden: A Circuit of the Senses
Exhibition dates: May 22 - June 5, 2026.

Featuring, Jessica Ticchio, 'WAITING FOR SPRING', 2025, Triptych; Digital animation loop projection. 3D-printed sculpture (sculpted in Virtual Reality) finished with Valleja metalic paint, glass and metal spheres, dimensions variable. Ambient sound design by Marli.

'The work lives in the intersection of nature and technology, reality and dream state; asking how digital tools can reshape our connection to the natural world and our sense of space and self. Drawing on organic rhythms, the VR sculptures blur the line between surreal and tangible, inviting reflection on belonging, dislocation and imagination in a world where digital and physical boundaries continue to increasingly converge.'

Drawing on the principles of Japanese ikebana, our installation transforms botanical material into an interactive sensory environment. Each stem, branch and bloom responds to human touch, producing an ever-changing composition shaped collectively by those who encounter it. Inspired by the Japanese Gutai movement's belief in the direct relationship between body and material, we encourage you to explore the space between nature and technology, intention and chance. The result is a poetic meeting of flower, sound and human presence - a work that asks not simply to be viewed, but played.

Conductive Light Garden: A Circuit of the Senses
Exhibition dates: May 22 - June 5, 2026.

Featuring, Jessica Ticchio, 'ENDLESS UNREALITY', 2025, Digital animation loop, projection installation, dimensions variable.

Last Friday, Conductive Light Garden transformed our historic former police station into a temporary field of sensory exchange; where light, sound, scent and touch converged to challenge conventional modes of perception. Across the building, audiences were invited to navigate the threshold between the tangible and the imagined, encountering spaces that unfolded not as fixed environments, but as shifting states of experience.

Artist, Jessica Ticchio's 'Endless Unreality' occupied the atrium as both architectural spine and conceptual portal. Extending vertically through the building's central void, the work activated the former civic infrastructure through a sequence of projected passages that connected floor to ceiling, material to immaterial. Drawing upon a constellation of architectural, cultural and speculative references, Ticchio constructed spatial fictions that oscillated between memory and invention, familiarity and estrangement.

Through continual shifts in scale, perspective and form, 'Endless Unreality' destabilised singular readings of place, inviting reflection on belonging, displacement and the fluid construction of identity. The work transformed the atrium into a site of suspension; a liminal zone where past and future, reality and imagination, coexist. In doing so, Ticchio reoriented 281 Clarence Street beyond its institutional history, positioning the building as a contemporary cultural vessel through which new possibilities for gathering, dreaming and becoming could emerge.

Introducing 👋🏼
Artist, Designer, Creative Director of

‘Art lets me expand perception, reframe the familiar and create spaces where people can dream beyond what they see.

Through Digital Art and Experiential Design, her creativity exists in the space between digital and physical, exploring how the two realms can exist in harmony. Playing with the line between real and surreal, she is inspired by the dreamstate, distortions of reality, grandious European architecture and sculptural forms seen in nature and everyday life. Her creative explorations transcend a variety of mediums, coming to life through 3D, AI, VR / 3D printed sculptures in her personal art practice, and the design of real-world immersive, experiential spaces as Creative Director of .

Visions of boundless dreamscapes and gravity-defying sculpture, Jessica’s creative practice evokes intrigue and reflection, whilst bending the concept of reality as we know it. She draws on the personal experience of her Australian-Italian heritage to create compositions that blend & fuse a myriad of cultural influence; utopian spaces that feel non-specific to a single place in our recognisable world.

Jessica’s works have been featured across the globe; from the pages of to the gallery walls of , , , the (Shanghai) and Prague’s first NFT art gallery .art in 2023. “Future Of The Past” appeared on two large-scale digital billboards: the Vérone Building Façade in Paris and in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, on a screen spanning 72 metres wide (one of the largest digital billboards in the world). In 2024, Jessica was nominated for the Créateurs Design Award for ‘Excellence in Digital Art’ in Paris, and has collaborated with brands such as , , , and .

presents their upcoming exhibition ‘Hana Denki 花電気’, (Electric Flower): a living installation where botanical matter becomes a medium for play across sound, touch and spatial perception.

Arranged within vessels, floral compositions extend beyond traditional ikebana into an expanded field of sensory activation. Through embedded electronic interfaces, organic materials respond to human contact, generated by an evolving sonic environment composed by

Conceptually informed by the Japanese Gutai movement’s emphasis on the direct encounter between body and material, the work dissolves distinctions between the natural and technological, the composed and the emergent. You are invited to engage physically with the installation, activating sound through gesture and proximity, transforming passive viewing into embodied participation.‍ By positioning flora as both instrument and ecosystem, ‘Hana Denki’ proposes a contemporary reimagining of Japanese spatial practice - one that situates botanical composition within circuits of energy, frequency and collective experience.
