We have been contacted by the Australian Department of Transport advising that the factory wheelchair hoist fitted to the above vehicle was not tested to Australian standards at the time of compliance. It has therefore been deemed non-compliant by the Australian Department of Transport. Australian standards dictate a wheelchair hoist and restraints must be tested to a 300kg load capacity. Since there is no equivalent test in the Japanese market the lifter and restraints are required to be modified. The recall will involve the replacement of the factory tie down restraints for manual ones. The platform rollers will also be upgraded to load tested units.
Action required by the owner:
This recall notice affects approximately 500 cars currently in the market.
Please respond to this notice as outlined below:
(A) If the wheelchair hoist mechanism has been removed from your vehicle then this recall will not apply. It would be appreciated if you could Please let us know in writing or by email if your vehicle no longer has a wheelchair hoist.
(B) If you have sold the subject vehicle, please provide the details of the buyer so we can contact them.
(C) To book in your recall, or if further information is required, please contact [email protected] or 0413 885 508. The rectification work will be done at no cost. The recall will take approximately 2 days. Parts will need to ordered to complete the work so please book in beforehand.
