A long overdue update!

After 9 years of faithful service, with only a few breakdowns, I’ve officially retired the old Ford Ranger from work duties and upgraded the work ute! The Ranger has been with me for a lot of kilometres! I’ve put 200,000 KMS on the Ute ontop of what it already had. I’ve had the Ute since I was an apprentice! It’s been with me through thick and thin and been a great asset to everything I’ve done, but it was time for a change!

It’s been a busy few months behind the scenes, with plenty of bigger jobs keeping me occupied — from two engine installs, water pumps and clutches through to servicing, repairs, diagnostics and breakdowns on trucks and machinery.

Another busy couple of weeks at BJC Mechanical & AC 🔧❄️

• Range Rover fixed for under $200 after a $4k quote elsewhere 💰
• FUSO truck air compressor replaced after failing roadside

After a few weeks of taking things slow due to an injury, I’m happy to say I’m now almost fully back into it and ready to hit the ground running heading into the new year.

I’ll be taking a short break from 19–29 December, but after that I’ll be available again — with limited days over the New Year period however, I’ll be doing my best to fit in as much work as possible.

A few of the jobs from the week thats been (and still to come) 🤩🤩

🔧 Swapped out a failed compressor in a Nissan Maxima

🔧 Fixed an electronic valve in a Hyundai compressor – saved the customer heaps from the $1,400 that was quoted elsewhere

🔧 Lined up an excavator service for tomorrow as well as some more A/C repairs!

From cars to trucks to machinery, I’ll keep your aircon cold and your gear running sweet.

Been a couple of busy weeks for me from forklifts, Cars or Trucks and now that it’s starting to warm up starting to see more A/C jobs, and seeing more misdiagnosed systems.

Everyone makes mistakes and that I get, but some of the “diagnosed” vehicles I’ve seen appear to be more of a money grab then anything.

So are you being told your car A/C needs costly repairs and it doesn’t?

This is why I do $100 Diagnostics on A/C systems before we do any “regassing” or repairs.
To make it easier this is included in the price given for a regas or repairs, and still cheaper than any mobile service I have seen.

Two examples from this year:

❌ $1,800 compressor quoted — found to be just a $400 valve
❌ $2,600 heater box quoted — was just a blocked filter restricting airflow

🌬️ Busy Behind the Scenes! 🚧

The last few weeks have been flat out! Big hours, late nights, and a whole lot of problem-solving to get a major project across the line. Still a few bits to tidy up, but we’re nearly there — finally starting to get back to normal… well, once I finish playing catch-up 😅

With the colder months rolling in, you might be thinking there’s no need to worry about your A/C — but don’t forget, cold air is the quickest and most effective way to clear up foggy windows in the morning!
If your A/C needs a service or repair, now’s a great time to get it sorted. ✅

🔧 And for those keeping an eye on the “little red engine” that’s popped up in some pics lately...

What started as a “quick” engine swap turned into a full-blown mission! From reconditioning the engine to rewiring gauges, sensors, and even sorting out the jet thrusters — one wire in the wrong spot caused hours of headaches. No wonder the previous owner gave up and left it unplugged 😂

Plenty of sleepless nights, but it was a rewarding challenge. That said… I might not be jumping into another one of those projects any time soon!
