How to Care for your Wrap in Australia, in the current environment.
• Where possible park in shade: Keep your car out of direct sunlight, especially between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. when UV radiation is strongest.
• Use a cover: Invest in a breathable, UV-resistant car cover if you do not have garage or carport access.
• Avoid hot panels: NEVER wash your car or apply cleaning products when the metal and vinyl are hot to the touch, as extreme heat can weaken the adhesive and cause bubbling.
Cleaning and Maintenance
• Hand wash gently: Spray slightly soapy water and wipe your wrap every 1 to 2 weeks using a pH-neutral car soap and a soft microfiber mitt. Avoid automatic brush car washes.
• Remove contaminants FAST: Wipe away bird droppings, bug splatters, and tree sap immediately. High summer temperatures bake these acidic substances into the vinyl, causing permanent stains.
• Dry thoroughly: Use a clean microfiber towel to dry the car completely and prevent water spots from magnifying the hot sun.
UV Protection Products
• Apply a wrap-safe sealant: Use a dedicated protective spray, Vinyl Wrap Seal Protect, to create a sacrificial barrier against UV fading.
• Skip standard waxes: Avoid traditional car waxes containing petroleum distillates, which can damage or stain vinyl finishes.
I hope this help keep your Car Wrap in great condition for many years to come.
Stay safe.
