The View Cafe has been turned into something so special over the last two seasons under your ownership.
You will be so sadly missed by us all at Fakenham Farm but we wish you all the best moving forward with your plans and adventures 💜

✨ As many of you may have heard, it is time for us (Jane and Louise) to say goodbye and hand over the reins of The View to someone else. It is not a decision we have made lightly; we are so proud of what we have built at The View and are so thankful for our wonderful, loyal customers and staff who have helped us build this venture over the last two and a half years. ✨

✨ We absolutely could not have done this without the help of our friends, families, workers and all the other businesses at Fakenham Farm; Pete at Fort View Tyres; Katie at Goose Island Studio; Michelle at Botany Bay Nursery; Lindsey and Dan at Easel Peasels - IOW’s destination for creative kids- Art & Slime and of course, Julie and Clive Fakenham Farm Campsite. Thank you everyone for your help and assistance (including the many tyre replacements!). ✨

✨ It is not the end of The View however, in fact it is on to bigger and better things in the hands of the amazing Jodie and Russell, so keep your eyes peeled for what is to come! It promises to be exciting! ✨

Just a very quick Blog this week as I continue to catch up with jobs after my holiday away from Fort View Tyres

Wanted to just give a huge shout out to all those that have made The View Cafe such a huge success over the last 18 months.
Jane and Louise turned up at the start of the 2025 season and built something out of nothing.

The café was on its knees and now the place is very often packed out with happy customers enjoying great food in a great atmosphere.

Louise has worked so hard in the kitchen and with Dan, Carol and the team providing something very special.
The front of house team have made locals and holiday makers so welcome.
Sadly Jane is now retiring and we wish her all the best perfecting the art of bowling and holidaying 😉

Louise will be passing the well established batten onto a new team from Tuesday who I’m sure will be all over the socials during the next few weeks letting you know what will be new but it will be a pretty much business as usual for the time being with Louise and familiar faces still about in the meantime.
If you can please call in over the bank holiday weekend and wish them all the best that would be lovely.

Well that was another hot week at Fakenham Farm HQ Myself and not so little Nathan have been riding solo while mums away but we managed to get to the end of the week and we fitted a fair few tyres down at Fort View Tyres with Nathan letting people know what we were doing and how we were doing it.

We have been fuelled by Louise, Jane and the team at The View Cafe and Nathan finished he’s week with a Brekkie and he didn’t even leave a bean. The food is second to none as is the hosting. Pop in and find out for yourself. Always worth booking a table to as the summer is getting very busy for them.

Goose Island StudioEasel Peasels - IOW’s destination for creative kids- Art & Slime have so much going on during the summer holiday period for kids and those bigger adult kids at heart. Check there socials for all the latest things to do.

Botany Bay Nursery there’s also summer bargains and the more you buy the better the deals get and with Michelle Cain having such a wealth of knowledge you are in good hands.

Fakenham Farm Campsite are now taking bookings for you Sep/oct quiet breaks give Julie a call.

To Be In Her Shoes Fundraising last week we headed up to Tesco Extra Ryde for Charities Together hosted by Jan Gibson. An amazing day of fundraising and raising awareness and we bagged with our good friends Vectis Radio £213.
Thank you for all your support as always.

The blog will take a summer break for a couple of weeks as I’m having a break from tyres and heels from Wednesday next week and will be back on the 20th to fit tyres and then on Sat 22nd will be doing East Cowes carnival with the amazing Community Spirited team down at The Parkside Pavilion East Cowes.

Just a quick blog this week as I have not stopped today between 7.45-3 and I’m done.
In a week when we are all so grateful to the amazing work that firefighter’s do across the uk and around the world.
As they take us to safety they risk there lives to preserve life, property and belongings. We are all so grateful 👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏

Very busy all round at Fakenham Farm this week, the Fakenham Farm Campsite is packed with holiday makers, Goose Island Studio Easel Peasels - IOW’s destination for creative kids- Art & Slime are now into full summer holiday mode so check there socials to keep the children and adults happy. The View Cafe is in full summer opening 7 days a week 9.30-3 amazing breakfasts, great lunchtime special and lots of yummy cakes and cream teas.
Botany Bay Nursery have plenty of deals in plants at the moment and a wealth of knowledge second to none.
Fort View Tyres had a very busy week and fully booed on Monday unless you have an emergency. Remember to text as I just can’t get to the phone when busy.
To Be In Her Shoes Fundraising awesome Boozy bingo last week with our friends at community spirited East Cowes raising £800 to split between our causes and tomorrow, Saturday we are with the Vectis Radio roadshow at Charities Together fundraiser outside Tesco Extra Ryde.

🚨ROAD CLOSED … but we are still open!🚨

✨ Eddington Road is currently closed (again!) but you can still reach us! Just come through St Helens, and drive safely past the road closed signs, and you will still be able to have our tasty and freshly made food and drinks!

✨ You cannot reach us through Nettlestone so you’ll have to go the long way round, we are afraid! It is expected to last until Friday but we hope to see you soon! ✨

Well in a week that we can forget about World Cup glory for another 4 years, Southern Water carry on destroying the Island in so many ways and the councillors that were asking Islanders why they couldn’t be bothered to vote for them decided not to vote themselves🤔
And to top it all eyes down, look in we have another prime minister that’s decided to have a go🤔
What a strange old world we live in.

Anyway at Fakenham Farm this week temperatures were up agin. Fakenham Farm Campsite is full and the customers are loving it.
The View Cafe is getting even more popular with there amazing breakfasts and lots of locals are booking in for afternoon high teas and cream teas. Great to see the place really buzzing.
Goose Island Studio Easel Peasels - IOW’s destination for creative kids- Art & Slime They had a fantastic open day last Saturday and you must check out there socials for all the stuff they are doing over the school summer holidays.
Botany Bay Nursery more and more people are now discovering this oasis of coastal plants Saturday and Wednesday 10-4 There’s always a bargain to be had.
Fort View Tyres got more of you on the road for those summer holidays.
A few scary tyres appeared and a slow puncture turned into a very dangerous cracked alloy wheel.
Always worth a free tyre check.

To Be In Her Shoes Fundraising had an amazing weekend with Vectis Radio at the Royal county show last weekend raising £827 to share between the Vectis Radio 4Ps charity and Hollie Gazzard Trust HollieGuard App.
Thank you so much for every penny donated.
This weekend we move onto to our Boozy Bingo at The Parkside Pavillion East Cowes with the Community spirited team looking after our community and our Island.

That was certainly a hot week up at Fakenham Farm totally relentless.

Oh to be a camper on the Fakenham Farm Campsite sitting out admiring the views under a sun shade with beer or wine in hand😃

In a week when we sadly lost the amazing and totally unique singer Bonnie Tyler 😞
So many singers from my generation are really showing there age now and looking and sounding quite vunerable.

This Saturday up at the farm Goose Island Studio and Easel Peasels - IOW’s destination for creative kids- Art & Slime have a special event showcasing work that goes on at there studios and there will be lots more going on to. see poster in pictures.
While your there pop into The View Cafe for a stunning breakfast, lunch or an afternoon cream tea.
They also make exceedingly good homemade cakes so don’t miss out.
On Saturday you can also visit the Botany Bay Nursery open 10-4 there selection of coastal garden plants is second to none.
At Fort View Tyres we got lots of cars ready for there summer journeys this week and have several booked in next week to. It’s always worth a tyre safety check so feel free to pop in.

To Be In Her Shoes Fundraising have a busy weekend fundraising with our friends Vectis Radio at The Royal County Show Ground for there 4Ps training programme and the Hollie Gazzard Trust. A huge thank you to all my customers that have donated and sponsored me for this event.
I will have a total for this Sunday evening.
The next event will be our boozy bingo the following weekend sat 18th. See poster.

A slightly more normal summer feel up at Fakenham Farm this week as the temperatures dropped from last week.
Fingers crossed it just doesn’t get too hot next week.

In a week when I thought we had won the World Cup by the news coverage but alas no we had beaten a team I didn’t know even existed but apparently they came close to sending us home on the next bus with the Germans. There would have been some interesting chat on that bus.

And it had to happen those totally incompetent fools at Southern water are going to give us a hose pipe ban as they are running out of water🤔
Well if they kept the water in the pipe network instead of millions of gallons cascading down our roads due to old worn out infrastructure and bodged up repairs then we might well be ok.
How can a company so useless at what it does dictate to the people that pay over inflated prices for a service that is so poor and water that at some times just doesn’t taste quite right.
Oh and thanks for destroying our beaches that destroys our tourism.
God help you if someone is seriously ill or dies on our beaches.😡

On the farm this week Michelle Cain has spent the week recovering and restocking the Botany Bay Nursery after her Birthday sale last week.
She was totally packed out and was so happy meeting new and regular customers.
There’s still some great deals on offer and the more you buy the better those deals get 😀pop in Saturday or Wednesday 10-4

Goose Island Studio Easel Peasels - IOW’s destination for creative kids- Art & Slime have been busy with people painting all sort of objects in the studio this week.
Open daily there is really something for everyone so check out there socials and get involved. Bring out your creative talents with events taking place.

The View Cafe have been knocking out lots of full English breakfasts this week despite the warm weather.
They certainly are becoming one of the favourite breakfast locations on the Island.
There lunchtime specials when it strikes 12 noon are also becoming a hit as well as the homemade cakes and afternoon cream teas.
Go on treat yourself. We’d through to Monday 9.30-3.

Fakenham Farm Campsite is very busy now and the summer holidays are almost fully booked up.
Now is the time to book your September and October breaks.

Fort View Tyres have caught up most of the jobs that I was able to roll over from last week and we have got plenty of cars this week ready to go away on there summer holidays.
Few scary sights that appeared so always worth popping in for a tyre check.

To Be In Her Shoes Fundraising we are fast approaching the Royal county show next weekend 11th and 12th and I will be doing a stunt in conjunction with Vectis Radio. Thank you for all your donations so far we are over £300 and I will be attempting 33,333 steps in various stiletto heels on a treadmill on one of those days.
The following week will be our Boozy Bingo fundraiser and so far I have sold almost 200 raffle tickets and over £100 in donation for the Boozy Bingo Boot Spotting completion that will start with is first two location pics on Monday.
The prize for that will be either breakfast for 2 or Afternoon cream tea for 2 at The View. Thank you to Louise and Jane 💜

Well what a week😮🙃

That has to be the hottest conditions I have ever worked in. At one point Wednesday lunchtime the thermometer I had in the sun at Fort View Tyres which was exactly where stupid me was fitting tyres reached 118 degrees Fahrenheit 47 degrees Celsius.
Totally crazy.
Thanks to The View Cafe for keeping me hydrated but take a moment to think of Louise and her kitchen team as Jane kept putting the tickets through for endless full English breakfasts despite being the hottest day in 50 years 😮🤔 That kitchen really was so hot and they were amazing.

Certainly the coolest place by far was Goose Island Studio where Kate had door closed and fans on while customers done there arts and crafts in comfort.

Luckily Easel Peasels - IOW’s destination for creative kids- Art & Slime were not on site as I think the upstairs studio would have also been roasting hot.

Meanwhile on Fakenham Farm Campsite the holiday makers were either enjoying the sun or shading themselves in the shade of the trees.

Botany Bay Nursery this Saturday celebrates the 50th birthday of its proprietor Michelle Cain with an amazing 50% off all plants on site.
Pop in and say hi and join in the celebrations.
Then pop up to the café and take a look in the studio.

Hi, if you don’t have a job booked in today or tomorrow and it’s not an emergency please can you book in next week.

The outside temp in the sun today that we are working in is over 40 degrees and it’s only 9.30.
