As many of you are probably already are aware, StreetStatik has been mostly about car photography in the Melbourne area. I did this for about 13 years as a hobby and really enjoyed getting out, meeting people, photographing the culture and the people that made it.
In early 2024, I ended up getting made redundant from my job and decided to maybe ramp up what StreetStatik was. I started to shoot a few videos for friends, I ended up getting a job with one of my best friends shooting at his agency, and in November 2025, I gathered myself, took a deep breath, and started my own business - StreetStatik. So I thought I'd share a few of the videos that I've made in the last few years, and give you a bit of a rundown as to how they happened or what they're about.
Part 1: LZ World Tour - Low Standards
Back in August '23, I got a message from Jay Duca AKA Low Standards He said, "mate, do you wanna shoot my video for LZ World Tour? I love your stuff!" Of course, I said "yes!". However, I'd not actually pushed a video record button on my camera before then.
I was working for Repco/Sparesbox at the time and had to get a crash course on how to use the camera with my teammate at the time, Ralph Rabago. Ralph is a gun at shooting, editing, and a massive inspiration to how I edit now.
Anyway, I learned the basics, headed down to Calder Park, and shot away. I used my photography brain to gather the shots, got to speak with Jimmy Oakes, Adam LZ, Mad Mike, and get their opinions on Jay’s amazing creations.
The video was then edited by another great inspiration and a teammate at the time, Mark Garic.
I think it came together amazingly, and because of that, I kept going with the video idea. Jay was yet to know that this was my first ever video I'd shot haha... Part 2 tomorrow hopefully, maybe another Jay Video.
