🏁 Race Report – Symmons Plains Raceway

What a weekend at Symmons Plains for Sam’s first-ever drive on the iconic circuit!

Practice Day

The team hit the track with excitement, but an unexpected gearbox leak was identified during practice, leading to the tough decision to drop the gearbox out and make immediate repairs. Big thanks to the Team Mechanic Daniel Hinds for helping to get the job done.

Race Day

We got off to a slow start due to heavy morning fog, delaying proceedings.

With every lap, Sam got more comfortable behind the wheel and began learning the true capabilities of the car. That confidence showed, with a stellar performance that saw him push through to take 1st place in Class A by the end of the day. A fantastic result for a first outing!

The day came to an early close following a serious on-track incident involving close friend Will Blair. Racing was suspended, and all thoughts turned to Will’s wellbeing. We’re incredibly relieved to hear he’s been cleared and is recovering well – we look forward to seeing him at a race track soon!

Today marks an incredible achievement here at Chet's Garage.
After more than a decade of gathering dust the AE86 has moved under its own power 💪 I gave myself till 3 today to have it done and after ripping the engine out yesterday for some realignment I just snuck in.
Can't thank everyone that's helped over the past 10 years enough 😂🍻
