Sometimes the hidden things are easily forgotten, here we have an engine cambelt that has stripped half its teeth off, fortunately for this vehicle it's classed as a non interference engine, so it survived, but this is not always the case, and can cause catastrophic engine failure.
So next time you're in for a service, it's worth asking "has my timing belt been replaced?"
