If you have an upcoming HART course, please ensure you bring your physical motorcycle permit / driver licence with you. It is a legal requirement to carry either your physical or digital licence when riding.
If you are unable to provide a valid licence on the day of your course, rebooking fees may apply.

How long is your Victorian Motorcycle Learner Permit valid for?

If you said 15 months, then you are correct! ✅

All Victorian Motorcycle Learner Permit holders have 15 months to complete all 3 steps of the licencing process to be compliant with VicRoads.

Remember to book in your Check Ride and Licence Assesment before your Learner Permit expires!

Please note - We recommend studying the content, attempting the sample questions as the knowledge test questions are based on the content within the Victorian Rider Handbook.

Have you studied for the Learner Permit Knowledge Test? 📖🏍

The 2-Day Learner Permit Course consists of both theory and practical learning, both are vital to ensure a full understanding of motorcycle riding skills.

The Knowledge Test is conducted on Day 1 of the Learner Permit Course. All students who attend must successfully complete and pass this Knowledge Test to proceed to Day 2 of the Learner Permit Course.

The Knowledge Test is based on the VicRoads Victorian Rider Handbook. All Participants are required to study the handbook before their course to ensure a thorough understanding of motorcycle riding, safety, and road craft.

There are 32 questions in total with multiple-choice answers. Students must obtain 25 or more correct answers to move on to Day 2.

At HART, our instructors spend their days helping riders build confidence, skills and safety on the road… however, every now and then, they swap the usual riding gear for something a little more distinguished.

Recently, some of the team took part in the Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride — dressing sharp (and yes, even kilts!) to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer research and men’s mental health.

While kilts might not be part of our everyday riding kit, supporting great causes absolutely is. Proud of our crew for getting involved and making a difference. 🏍️
