⚙️ Subaru Forester – Transmission Warning Lights & Faulty Solenoids
This Subaru Forester came in displaying multiple warning lights on the dash, including the traction control, check engine, and transmission warning indicators.
After thorough diagnostics, the issue was traced to a failing transmission solenoid within the CVT unit. These solenoids control the flow of hydraulic pressure in the transmission — when they start to fail, it can trigger a range of fault codes and cause harsh shifting or limp mode.
Replacing the affected solenoids and resetting the system restored smooth operation and cleared all warning lights.
🚘 Common symptoms of solenoid failure include:
Warning lights for transmission or traction control
Shuddering or slipping under load
Delayed or harsh gear changes
CVT going into limp mode
If you’re seeing warning lights or noticing transmission issues in your Subaru, it’s best to have it checked early — ignoring the signs can lead to bigger (and more expensive) problems later.
