We will be closed over the Christmas/New year period. Workshop closes 5pm Friday 19th December 2025 and reopens Monday 12th January 2026. Any outstanding accounts must be paid prior to 5pm 19th December to avoid being overdue.

Hi all, please be aware the gentleman pictured below is claiming he works at our workshop and has been completing part sales online and then doing a runner once funds have transferred.

To be totally clear the individual is not and never has been an employee at this business.

Tas Police have been informed and hopefully a resolution can be found for the sake of the folks he has deceived.

Finally our new Hunter Wheel Aligner is installed and up and running!

So from the first of April we are offering the first 20 customers to book a wheel alignment a discount of $20 off the cost of the alignment.! First in best dressed and only for the first 20 lucky customers!

We are open!

Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm

We offer free pick up and delivery of your vehicle if you wish to remain isolated. We can even pick up your vehicle from your workplace to save you having to get away to drop it off and pick it up again.

In this time the reliability of your vehicle is paramount and we are here to help ease the pressures of the current situation that we find ourselves in.

We are coming into winter and things like windscreen wiper rubbers and lights and batteries and tyre condition are the most important safety items to keep you safe on the roads as conditions deteriorate.

To help you we offer a free service to inspect these critical items, no bookings are required either contact us and we can come to you in the town area or just drop in!

COVID-19 update
In these strange times we want you to know we are still currently trading.

We have implemented a few changes restricting movement of the general public into our workshop so please bear with us and hopefully we can continue to help you on a daily basis.

Remember we offer free pick up and delivery of your vehicle if you wish to remain at home.

Also, if you’ve got a bank card or can do a bank transfer for payment, that would also be appreciated and be sensible in abiding by the requirements around social distancing, if we are busy and you are not comfortable waiting around others, and you can come back later, please do that and we do apologise for any inconvenience.

Automotive Technician - Fahey Motors

Fahey Motors is one of the larger mechanical workshops in the Circular Head region and have been operating for over 40 years. We are seeking a motivated, punctual and experienced Automotive Technician to join our busy team at our Smithton site.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Day to day tasks involve servicing, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, wheel alignments, vehicle inspections, major component replacements, tyre changes and balancing.

You could be working on a Landcruiser then the next job could be a Porsche, the work is that diverse

Skills and experience

Qualified Automotive or Diesel Technician
Have a strong safety focus
Work well in a small team environment
Be customer orientated
Hold a current clean manual drivers license
Have a commitment to Customer service
Experience with Scan tools and advanced diagnostic equipment
Experience with tyre fitting equipment and wheel alignments
Proficient with Microsoft office and associated office equipment
Have your own tools
