The SPOON SPORTS Dealer Certified Vehicle program recognises vehicles that genuinely embody the Spoon Sports tuning philosophy, or “Spoon-ism.”

In collaboration with Spoon Co.Ltd., each certified vehicle receives an official, unique serial-numbered plaque issued by us.

To ensure authenticity, qualifying parts must be purchased directly from SPOON SPORTS or an authorised global distributor or dealer, providing confidence that the vehicle meets the program’s standards.

PSA - Spoon Sports #41000-FL5-000 (FK8/FL5) L.S.D Kit [RECALL NOTICE]

As some of you might know, Spoon Sports investigated and confirmed that some units contain an internal side gear with dimensions outside the specified range, following customer reports that the left-side drive shaft may disengage when the product is installed.

In these affected units, the left-side drive shaft may not be securely retained and could disengage while the vehicle is being driven. This could result in a loss of driving power and possible transmission oil leakage.

The good news is none of the units we sourced from Spoon Sports prior to May 2025 have been affected.

We have reached out to several of you who have sourced the L.S.D kits from us, but if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.

SPOON SPORTS has newly released the S-TAI FRONT BUMPER for the 11th generation CIVIC TYPE R (FL5).

This product was meticulously developed to maximize downforce and cooling performance. The front canard and floor designs underwent rigorous analysis to create optimal downforce without introducing unwanted drag. Given that front-engine, front-wheel-drive vehicles require sufficient weight distribution on the front axle, the newly designed bumper helps to secure this balance, achieving greater stability at high speeds. To improve the cooling efficiency of the radiator and intercooler, the air duct on the bumper has been reconfigured, which helps to minimize water and oil temperature increases under demanding conditions such as track driving.

With our track driving customers in mind, we have also secured dedicated space on both sides of the inner bumper for the installation of additional oil coolers. This available space is an ideal solution for endurance race participants and frequent track enthusiasts. Furthermore, brake cooling efficiency was improved by installing a brake duct with a 100mm maximum diameter, effectively helping to prevent fading during continuous driving sessions.

The development of this product is founded on our extensive experience gained from setting up our race car for the Super Taikyu Endurance Race Series. We initially focused on improving downforce, accumulating valuable data from numerous track testing sessions. This data acquisition also allowed us to pursue improvements in the cooling efficiency of the engine bay. This is truly a product born from our motorsport pedigree, achieving the highest levels of downforce and cooling performance. SPOON SPORTS now offers the S-Tai Bonnet for the 11th Generation CIVIC TYPE R (FL5).

This item is a must to keep the water and oil temperature in check for track driving.
Before pushing your car hard, securing enough cooling performance is essential. Increasing the capacity of your radiator is a standard step in the right direction, but it’s often not enough. That is why we decided to develop this product.

The front bumper of the FL5 has sufficient fresh air intake capacity but the problem was efficiently venting the hot air out from the engine bay. The large air duct design of our new bonnet triples the amount of airflow out of the engine bay, greatly increasing the cooling efficiency necessary for demanding track driving conditions.

The air ducts on both sides not only facilitate the exit of heated air, but also effectively relieve air pressure from the wheelhouse. This helps to enhance downforce during high speed driving to improve overall handling stability. The bonnet is constructed from light-weight, durable FRP material.

When running our demo car continuously on track, overheating had always been an issue. While developing our radiators and thermostats, we came to realize that improving the efficiency of hot air extraction from the engine bay was a must. That is how we started our development of the newly designed bonnet. We tested the new bonnet on our S-Tai racing car and confirmed the significantly improved cooling performance, with zero overheating issues during the hot summer season races in conditions over 35℃ (95°F).

Many FL5 owners running their cars on track often install oil coolers to keep their oil temperature down. Our new S-Tai bonnet combined with an increased capacity radiator will enhance the oil temperature cooling performance, minimizing the risk of decreased oil pressure, thus ensuring stable, continuous performance.
