🛠️ TOYOTA N80 HILUX IN THE WORKSHOP 🔧

This N80 Hilux came in for a DPF fuel filter replacement, a job the dealer didn’t want to take on for the customer.

🚙🔧 TWO DIFFERENT 4WDs, SAME JOB, ONE WEEK!

We had both a LandCruiser 79 Series and a Nissan Patrol Y61 through the workshop this week for some front-end maintenance.

Both vehicles received:

✅ Swivel hub reseals
✅ Wheel bearing replacements
✅ Inspection and reassembly

Two very different 4WDs, but the same common job, keeping those front ends sealed, lubricated and ready for whatever the tracks throw at them! 💪

🚧 CAT 305 EXCAVATOR IN THE WORKSHOP 🔧

This CAT 305 came in with an overheating issue and a loud ticking noise.

After further inspection, we found two separate issues:

🔧 Failed head gasket, allowing the cooling system to pressurise and pumping coolant out onto the ground. 💦
🔧 Failed exhaust manifold gasket, causing the loud ticking sound.

Parts are currently on back order, but once they arrive we’ll get stuck into it and have this machine back up and running in no time! 💪

Another fault found and diagnosed before it turned into something much worse.

🚙 RAM 1500 IN THE WORKSHOP! 🔧

This Ram 1500 came in to have a Bosco Electric Roller Shutter fitted to the tray.

✅ Bosco electric roller shutter
✅ Fitted and aligned
✅ Electrical wiring neatly installed
✅ Easy push-button or remote operation

A great upgrade for keeping the tray secure, weather protected and looking clean. 👌

While it was here, we also fitted a Dee Zee Tailgate Assist Strut, making opening and lowering the tailgate smoother and easier. 👌

Nissan Navara in the workshop for a rear crankshaft seal replacement and sump reseal.

Not exactly a quick job, gearbox, clutch and flywheel all have to come out to get access and get the job done. 🔧

A decent amount of work just to stop a couple of oil leaks! 😅

350 Chev in for a full rebuild 🔧🔥

This 350 Chev came in with a serious engine knock.

A quick inspection of the oil filter revealed plenty of metal, pointing towards a bearing failure. The engine was pulled out and the bottom end stripped down for a closer inspection.

It’s going to need a full rebuild, stay tuned for the teardown, inspection and rebuild process. 👀🔧

Something a little different for my days off!

The local BMX club mower had been lacking a bit of maintenance and unfortunately dropped the rocker gear, bending the pushrods.

Pulled it down and inspected the engine to make sure nothing else had failed. Removed all the rocker gear, refitted everything with new bolts and Loctite, fitted new pushrods, carried out a valve adjustment and gave it a full service.

All sorted and back to cutting grass! 💪🌱

Another job done and keeping the local community equipment running.

🚗🔧 Still here… just flat out! 🔧🚗

If you’ve been wondering where I’ve been, don’t worry, RSSR Automotive is still going strong! I’ve just been incredibly busy.

I currently have a couple of larger jobs that are taking up most of my time, so booking availability is limited.

📅 I currently only have bookings available from 1st September up to the school holidays (17th September). If you need your vehicle serviced or repaired, don’t leave it until the last minute to reach out.
