Adventure Bingo
Each year, the Redgum group take home a small teddy for the week. This year we had adventure Bingo.
By doing this, Bingo supports the children in gaining confidence in self-identity by sharing stories and photos about family, friends, and culture, broadening their understanding of the world in which they live.

During term 2, Redgum children have been participating in intergenerational experiences with children from Banksia (0-2) and residents of Willson Lodge Aged Care. Throughout these visits, they have confidently engaged in conversations, shared play experiences, and formed warm, respectful relationships with people of different ages.
These meaningful interactions have supported children in developing their communication and social skills as they listened, responded, asked questions, and shared their ideas. Children have shown kindness, empathy, cooperation, and respect while taking part in group activities and play, building a sense of belonging within the wider community.

During NAIDOC Week 2026, children enjoyed various activities in their rooms and came together mid-week to cook wonderful food to share at afternoon tea, using bush tucker ingredients. Children have an understanding of the community they belong to and share it with others.

Kath Foley is celebrating NAIDOC WEEK 2026 next week.

We are asking all families to join us in the celebration by colouring in a small section of the beautiful artwork ‘PARALPI’.

On Wednesday 8th July, each room will partake in a bushtucker afternoon tea, where the children will cook the bushtucker and come together in the afternoon to share with the other rooms.

We’re so lucky to have Grace! She stepped into the Director role in January, but you might not know she's been with us for 13 years - first as a casual, then room leader, educator, and assistant director - giving her a deep appreciation of everything it takes to keep our centre running smoothly. 🙏🌈

We know it can be hard to make it to a set open day, so we’re inviting all interested families to book in for a guided tour and see our rooms in action. Meet the educators and get a feel for what every day is like. Kindy registrations are now open for 2027. We also have a few spots left for any families still looking for kindy/long daycare options this year.

Earlier in the week, the kindergarten rooms enjoyed a visit from Sharon from the sustainability team at Wellington Shire Council, who taught us about the life cycle of worms and what we can place in the compost for the worms to eat and grow.

Acknowledging National Reconciliation Week.
The children have participated in art experiences and the Blackwood kinder room went on a nature walk to appreciate and collect special items from country. The children also participate in daily embedded practises to understand the importance of inclusion in the community we live in.

As National Volunteer Weeks draws to a close, we wanted to shout out our incredible volunteer Management Committee. 🙏We're so proud to be supported by volunteers, we think it's one of the things that makes our centre so unique and keeps us connected to what families really need.

This Thursday 21st May, the children & staff will come together to join in on Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea.
The children will enjoy a fruit platter and a cupcake with their peers while the staff will be enjoying baked goods supplied by each other and .
Any donations big or small would be greatly appreciated to help us reach our centre goal.
