🔧 AMT TRANSMISSION DIAGNOSTICS — FINDING THE ROOT CAUSE 🔧
This truck was towed into Brymad with very little information, other than the fact that it could no longer select any gears.
Our first step was to carry out a thorough AMT diagnostic assessment and testing procedure.
The initial testing gave us an indication that the fault could potentially be related to the clutch or a clutch-related sensor.
After placing the truck into reverse, the symptoms became much clearer — the transmission behaviour strongly indicated that the clutch was the source of the problem.
Once the transmission was removed, we were able to confirm the diagnosis.
The clutch had been completely burnt — essentially reduced to charcoal.
This is why accurate transmission diagnostics are so important. Rather than simply replacing components and hoping for the best, proper testing allows us to follow the symptoms, identify the cause and confirm the failure.
From a truck that wouldn’t select a gear, to finding the exact cause of the failure.
