β οΈπ₯ URGENT: PREPARE TO LEAVE - LIVES AND HOMES UNDER THREAT
A fast-moving, dangerous bushfire has broken out this evening, threatening parts of Warnbro, Waikiki, Cooloongup, and Safety Bay. Authorities have issued a WATCH AND ACT alert. Conditions are changing rapidly, and the fire is moving fast in a North-Westerly direction. If you are in the warning area, you need to act NOW.
π THE WARNING AREA: Bounded by Mandurah Road, Safety Bay Road, Wilmott Drive, and Seagate Street.
π§ MAJOR ROAD CLOSURES: The following roads are SHUT. Do not attempt to drive through these areas:
β Safety Bay Road: Closed from Baldivis Road to Ennis Avenue.
β Ennis Avenue: Closed from Wilmott Drive to Royal Palm Drive.
π WHAT YOU NEED TO DO:
If your plan is to leave, leave now. Do not wait until the last minute.
Pack your emergency kit: Radio, first aid, woollen blankets, medication, and valuables.
Evaporative Aircon: Turn it OFF, but keep water running through the system if possible to stop embers from being sucked into your roof.
Only stay if you are physically and mentally prepared with an independent water supply.
