🚗 The "Nervous System" of Your Car: Understanding Engine Sensors 🧠
Ever wondered how your car knows exactly how much fuel to burn or when to shift gears? It’s not magic—it’s a high-tech network of sensors working together in real-time! 🛠️

Think of these sensors as the "eyes and ears" of your engine. Here is a breakdown of the key players shown in our Craft Skills guide:

1️⃣ Oxygen Sensor (O2 Sensor) 💨
This sensor monitors the exhaust gases. It tells the car’s computer if the fuel mixture is too "rich" (too much gas) or too "lean" (too much air).

Why it matters: It keeps your fuel economy high and your emissions low.

2️⃣ Crankshaft & Camshaft Position Sensors (CKP/CMP) ⚙️
These two work like a synchronized dance team. They track the exact position and speed of the engine's internal parts.

Why it matters: Without them, your engine wouldn't know when to spark the fuel or open the valves. If these fail, your car usually won't start!

3️⃣ Coolant Temperature Sensor (CTS) 🌡️
This measures how hot or cold the engine liquid is.

Why it matters: It prevents your engine from overheating and helps it warm up efficiently on cold mornings.

4️⃣ Oil Pressure & Level Sensors 🛢️
These monitor the "blood" of your engine. They ensure there is enough oil and enough pressure to keep all metal parts lubricated.

Why it matters: Low oil pressure can destroy an engine in minutes. These sensors are your first line of defense!

💡 Pro-Tip from Craft Skills:
If your "Check Engine" light comes on, it’s usually one of these little heroes sending a distress signal. Don't ignore it—your car is literally trying to talk to you! 🗣️🚘

Tide Times - Friday 20/2/26

0311 - 0.53 Low
0946 - 1.95 High
1603 - 0.45 Low
2215 - 1.69 High

Driving on the beach is one of the island's greatest adventures but it requires care and preparation. Always check tide times before setting out and plan to drive 2 hours either side of the low tide when the sand is the firmest. Drop your tyre pressure to around 18-20 psi for better traction. Stick to designated driving zones and obey all road rules and speed limits - Police do patrol the beaches. Watch for washouts, soft sand and incoming waves. It is also a good idea to travel with recovery gear and another vehicle to be able to assist in any recovery attempts.

Happy beach driving! 🤘🚙

This is the reason we do not work on beach cars on Friday…
Everything is seized and everything takes longer !

Being a mechanic means giving more than you get most days. Your hands hurt, your back aches, and the clock doesn’t care how tired you are. People only see the finished job, never the hours of doubt, frustration, and patience it took to get there.

There are nights you go home exhausted, carrying the weight of mistakes you never want to repeat and problems that kept you awake. You replay every decision in your head because you know someone’s safety rides on the work you did.

And still, you show up the next morning. Not because it’s easy, but because quitting was never part of who you are. 🤔😭
