A couple of locals, Travis and Deacon from AutoOne, Port Augusta joined us for their 4WD Training this weekend and they certainly got the DropBear Hilux dirty!!
The drizzly day didn’t deter us as they climbed the steep Rocky terrain in the morning and then played in the Sand dunes and the Mud in the afternoon.
A momentary lapse in judgement meant the DropBear got bogged, but it was recovered within 15 minutes and back on the track.
Well done Travis and Deacon and we know you both had a bit of fun and learned a bunch of different four-wheel-drive skills for your four wheeling in the future!

Chloe Smart from SAALLB joined us over the last few days for her Basic 4WD Training and had a great time doing her course in readiness for her Outback travels for work.
Even though she’s lived and worked in the Outback over the last decade, she said she still learnt a bunch of new skills and really enjoyed her practical training day and we certainly covered doing Water crossings and Mud terrain driving! Well done Chloe!!

Brent and Ellen came all the way over from Geelong Victoria recently for their 4WD Training, as they prepare for a one year lap around Australia with their two children. Their new Ford Ranger ‘Super Duty’ certainly didn’t disappoint, as we showed them what they and it can do off-road.
They were amazed at what we put their vehicle through, using all the 4WD dials & buttons in different terrains to show them their Ute’s capabilities.
Now they are really really looking forward to the beginning of their adventure later this year and we wish them all the best on their lap of Oz.

Three new Kokatha Park Rangers also did their Basic 4WD course this week with us, covering a bunch of competencies to the National Standards, in readiness for their work on country.
Well done ladies, from all the giggles, we know you had lots of fun while you were learning and we wish you safe and happy 4WDriving in the future.

Five new Kokatha Pastoral service Park Rangers joined us for that 4WD SSV/ATV Training earlier this week on our purpose made 4WD ATV track and had lots of fun going through all of the competencies and learning just how capable these vehicles are.
They also operate CFMoto SSV‘s at Roxby Downs so our vehicle is similar to there’s and we used all the features including the Front Diff Lock in very steep gnarly terrain.
All the staff did really well and we covered all the competencies to the National Standards, as always.

Narelle joined us last year for her 2 day Basic 4WD Motorhome course and yesterday she came back to do her 1 day Advanced 4WD Training and learn all about using her winch and how to use it properly to self recover.
We covered Single, Double and Triple line winch pulls in steep Rocky terrain and in soft Sandy terrain using anchor points available, and she learned how to bury her ‘MaxTrax’ (our own technique we have perfected and delivered over many years) to self recover in Sandy terrain.
Well done, Narelle and we wish you safe and happy 4WDriving on your epic adventures around Oz in the future !!

James and Ella from the UK just completed their 4WD Training with us, as they start their epic 12 month Odyssey of Australia. It was lovely to meet and train them over the last 2 days in their old Toyota Prado, as they learnt what it and they can do off-road.
They were like sponges, keen to learn as much as they could on the 4WD Theory day and then put it all into real world practice on the 4WD Practical day.
Well done guys and we wish you all the very best as you explore our awesome country, on your lap of Oz!

I am absolutely pumped that in one week, I will be riding with not only fellow South Aussies, but also people travelling from Interstate to join us for our very first South Aussie With Cosi Two Day Horse Trail Ride, in the Southern Flinders Ranges! We understand the cost of fuel is high at the moment but now more than ever it is important to support the regions!
We can’t wait to meet all of the riders and guests joining us for what promises to be an incredible weekend, while also supporting such a fantastic country town.
A huge thank you goes out to the District Council of Mount Remarkable, SA Recreation and Sport, National Parks and Wildlife Service South Australia, Melrose Showgrounds Camping, Jacka Brothers Brewery, BIKE Melrose MTB Club, North Star Hotel South Australian Tourism Commission, local landowners, and everyone else who has contributed to bringing this special event together. It truly wouldn’t be possible without you.

We’ve been a little busy lately with our usual 4WD Training, and we recently completed our first 4WD Tag along Tour for this year.
Our ‘Flinders Ranges Gnarly Tracks’ Tour was extra special this year because recent rains have made everything soooo green!
The photos and videos don’t show how steep these tracks actually are, but everyone managed to negotiate them after a bit of track maintenance, to make sure we could get up and down on our first attempts.
Well done to our group for traversing the gnarliest tracks, the 9.5 & 10 out of 10 Tracks are not for the faint hearted but the views are so worth it!!

Peter and Michele from Adelaide joined us for their personalised 4WD Training course late this week and had a great time learning all about their Prado and what it can actually do off road. They were open to learning a bunch of new competences and adding to some of their previous knowledge from owning an older 4WD vehicle some 10 years ago.
Well done Peter & Michele as you start to plan future trips with your semi off-road van in tow and we wish you safe and happy 4WDriving in the future!
