With 5mm rain early yesterday morning, and the day breezy but cool, the track remains rated Soft 5.

Fine this morning, some showers forecast tomorrow afternoon.

Racing resumes at Queanbeyan on Tuesday next week with a seven race TAB meeting.

The sprint winner gets into the Black Mountain Quality at Canberra on the 18th September.

Track is presently a Soft 5, drying nicely after 30mm rain early/mid last week. Some showers are forecast the next few days.

Grass cover is generally very good, but the patching of the inside section around the turn could use more time. Hence, the rail goes out 3m for this meeting.

Another shout out, this time to local trainer Tom Wilson for his recent wins at Forbes on Cup day with Bella Piazza and then a few days later with Bourbon Queen at Gundagai.

A big congratulations to the owners and the stable, hopefully plenty more to come.

Another update on the winter wins by our Queanbeyan trainers.

Hardazhell for trainer Jenny Hoy heads back to Moruya today after sweeping down the outside to win there less than two weeks ago (pictured).

Hardazell rises in distance to 2010m this arvo, but not for the first time past 2000m after two strong recent showings at Goulburn's 2150m.

A big shout out to local trainer Michael Sparrow who has been on a tear over winter with the lightly raced Guy's Last Prize.

Recently turned five, Guy's Last Prize made it three wins in four starts when proving too good as favourite at the Goulburn Cup meeting on Sunday. This followed consecutive wins at Moruya and a close second at Albury (that winner then scoring again).

Even better, it's a family affair in the ownership along with Dan Warner who's father bred the horse.

With a dark coat and distinctive blaze, we're looking forward to seeing plenty more of Guy's Last Prize in the future.

A happy bunch of locals after The Adige won first up for the new stable Joe Cleary Racing.

A nice return too, with $22k jumping in for the Super Maiden win.
