Hi just an update since retiring.
I got the WRX detailed for a sale but my son Alex thought it looked so good, he bought it.
Anyway, a Mediterranean cruise is on now. 11 nights down, 12 to go.
The photos include Singapore, Barcelona, France, Montecarlo, Italy, Malta, Greece.
The back and neck are going ok but I have to be very careful.
So hot and dry in southern Europe and very different.
The business stays closed. Thanks again for the well wishes when retiring. Going ok!!!

PORT DRIVING SCHOOL PERMANENTLY CLOSES.

1. Sadly I have to announce that I've done my last driving lesson. Although my back issues have improved somewhat, I still have issues, one being a " frozen shoulder."
I have Stenosis issues in my neck and lower back.
I have no choice but to close.

2. The Subaru WRX will be for sale. I may do a separate post on this. Anyway in the meantime, anyone interested in getting in early, it has only 32000ks and will go I think for under $40 000. Dual controls still in if a driving instructor is interested.

3. GIFT VOUCHERS.
If you have one, contact me and will be refunded. I have names but not contact details.

4. To those I can no longer help with lessons, my one bit of advice is be very aware of the many over the top head checks you have to know and do to pass a driving test. I agree with most, not all.

5. A huge thank you to the many loyal customers I've had over 18.5 years. I loved getting the multiple siblings from many families. Too many to mention. I am already missing the many very happy faces after a pass.

PORT DRIVING SCHOOL SADLY CLOSED FOR BOOKINGS.

I have battled back issues for years and managed to get by but things went to a new low this week.
Severe pain and numbness in my legs making it difficult to stand and walk. Looks like Lumbar Spinal Stenosis.
Two flights of stairs to the two cars parked in the garage. I can't manage that.

I had to cancel all bookings this week and I am not taking new bookings.
I may have to close permanently. One of the worst weeks of my life. I would love to continue but sadly that's how it is currently.
Thanks for the well wishes from those I have spoken to this week.

47. Addison Thomson of Pappinbarra.

This was supposed to be a lesson and test in the WRX today but serious back issues meant a change of plans.
So no pre-test lesson and own car didn't stop him. An impressive 96% manual pass today at Port.

46. Ben Walker of Wauchope.

Originally from Portsmouth England, Ben was desperate to pass today for a new job starting on Monday that he needed his license for.
So relieved he got there with a 97% pass this afternoon at Port.
A big congrats Ben!!! A great pass under pressure!!!! Good luck and thanks.

Two more for the Mialls.

Jayde pictured on 8/11/19 with the twins Hayden and Tayler. The day Jayde got her Ps and the day Port turned orange with the bush fires.
Time has flown by and it's the twins turn for lessons. The 4th and 5th from the Mialls following Brooke, Nicole and Jayde.
They haven't changed much.

45. Lauren Nichols. MacKillop Year 11.

Lauren drives beautifully and is up there with the very best I have seen in 18.5 years of teaching. I didn't have to teach Lauren much at all. The easiest of lessons and she's 17 today.
I predicted a 100% 1st go pass.
100% 1ST GO it was.
I like typing that, so here we go,
100% 1ST GO at Port. The 8th this year.
A big congrats Lauren and happy birthday!!!!!

44. Jade Bryant. MacKillop Year 11.

No problems with the log book today unlike older sister Ashley 16 months back. A totally different experience at the moment for some reason.
Jade slowed it down a little in our pre-test lesson, driving brilliantly which flowed into the test.
A 99% 1ST GO PASS on her 17th birthday.
Congrats Jade. It was fun!!!!!

43. Nick Hiam of Port.

A very good driver and a few lessons leading in with very few mistakes.
A 1ST GO 98% PASS at Port.

42. Jesse Suitor. Newman Year 11.

This test was cancelled from a week back because when a tester is sick, they don't have a back up.
Anyway it was worth the wait. Jesse drives fine and a 100% 1ST GO PASS. He follows older brothers Tobey and Lachlan and a Canterbury win on the week-end. What are the odds??

41. Elisha Soper of King Creek.

The same hair as a friend of mine from school who was nicknamed "Flame" and Elisha said he got a haircut only two weeks back. Just jealous.
Today Elisha slowed it down a little and that's about all he had to do to get a pass because he drives fine.
A 1ST GO 98% pass at Port and pictured with his girlfriend and my ex student Bella Dragos.
Congrats Elisha. Great driving!!!!!

40. Aden Chapman. St Columba Year 12.

Aden's driving has improved so much over the last few months. The mistakes dried up and a brilliant 99% 1st go pass this afternoon at Port. Looking very comfortable behind the wheel.
