We’re constantly looking at the way we do things and asking ourselves one question…can we do it better?

Sometimes that’s something as simple as changing a rear-guard pole configuration, refining a paint scheme or finding a cleaner way to label hook-up plates. Other times, it’s pulling an entire setup apart, starting again and building something completely different.

Not every improvement needs to be massive. If it makes the finished product safer, cleaner, easier to use or more efficient, it’s worth looking at.

You’ve seen the finished bunk, now let’s get into what actually went into it.

Our workshop manager Connor was the heavy lifter behind this one, putting plenty of thought into how the space would be used day to day. Storage and maximising every inch were at the forefront, right down to the smaller details.

It’s those little things you might not notice straight away that can make a bloody big difference when you’re spending serious time on the road.

That’s the beauty of building these in-house. We’re not limited to an off the shelf setup. With a bit of thought, creativity and some PFM ingenuity, we can build a bunk around how you want to use it.

There’s plenty getting done behind the doors at PFM.

The It’s a Bloke Thing truck has found its way back into the shed after R&K picked it up at auction. We originally donated time and parts towards the truck as our contribution to the cause, and now it’s back with us for a few more extras.

One of the new additions going into the Wagner’s build is our PTO remote setup, giving drivers control of four tipper trailers from one wireless remote. Less mucking around, more control and a setup that makes sense when you’re actually out there doing the job.

And while the bigger builds tend to get plenty of attention, keeping trucks on the road is just as important. The Ambrose truck and trailer are in for a routine B service, with anything picked up during inspection sorted before it has the chance to become a bigger problem.

Three very different jobs, but a pretty good look at what happens under one roof at PFM.

We’re chasing someone around the Pittsworth area to give us a hand washing and detailing trucks on weekends mainly.

There’ll be a bit of everything to wash — trucks, trailers, road train combinations and more, so you won’t be short of something to do! 😂

✅ Must be reliable and willing to get in and have a crack
