Talk about hanging on by a thread 😲
Glen Edwards Xd 427 clevor developed a top end noise and on inspection we found that 3/4 of the retainer had decided enough is enough 😬
Apparently top end is pretty old so time to pluck the heads off and check the rest of the valve train out and new set of valve springs and retainers and locks will be going on
One lucky man

So I also had to go over the fuel system on Angryq
The other week because the car has been sitting around for a long time without getting used and E85 i find is even worse then Methanol if not maintained properly
This is a E85 car and you will see what i mean by the photos

So first was Free flow the fuel pump to check that strip Carby and scrub everything buy hand with tiny wire brushes and crc to try bring the carbys back to life best i could
×2 Floats were cracked so just replace the lot of them all new needle & seats and all new gaskets for both Carbys then back together set Float levels and mixture screws and run it upto temp to check everything now seems happy so clean air filters and replace air cleaner base gaskets also

Been a bit quiet on the page lately but there has been plenty going on and hard to find the time to keep up with the social media side of things running a one man band

But I had HYPO burnout car in few weeks ago to go over the car for Kane because he has been to busy himself with Running his own business and the car had just been sitting since the start of the year after a few skids got parked up

So first thing was to go over the fuel system being Methanol car
Do a free flow test into a 5L measuring Jug using a stop watch you can work out the flow of the pump Did that on both fuel pumps and that showed the pumps seamed to be down on flow specially the old Holley black lift pump supplying the surge tank with a w525
So Time to check the all the Fuel filters and i thought they would of been clean as a whistle because they where all cleaned out when the engine had a rebuild end of last year well after checking them i was like oh I know what is going on here the Fuel Cell must have rubber in it sure enough Rubber in the Cell and the filters
I forgot to get some photos off in cell and 100mic filter before lift pump

So Time to go for a drive to Full Flow Performance Injectors to drop off the injectors to get them tested and cleaned 👌
And aslo while im there was able buy a new Magnafuel 275 pump for new lift pump that kev had on the shelf

Then was off to Go Gear to get some new SpeedFlow fuel filters and a stop off at veals to get some NGK racing spark plugs

And then it was get to work on cleaning out the Fuel Cell, Surge tank filter housing's Fit new Magnafuel 275 pump and then flush the lines also

Then onto engine service so remove the plugs to be a little disappointed to see the condition of the plugs and that Kane had been bit lazy 😬 and not run CRC/WD40 through the engine after unloading car off the trailer and parking it up or not getting it to running temperature at least before shuting it down
Also Clean air filter change oil and run it up to temp

So something specially for the burnout ute owners
To check is inside your fuel cell iv actually cleaned out a few now Even in a sedan as well in the boot that was just running a hose in a loop

Couldn't help myself but to post some progress pictures even though I'm not finished porting this Elderbock LS 4500 single plane intake manifold for Aiden Stampalia last minute Drag challenge build 🤫 Nothing unusual for Aiden.

So the intake manifold was going to be getting ported and a bur finish either way with the beautiful Killer Carbide Burs 👌 But we have also decided to go with one of Jon Grove Engines own Designed tested & proven 4500 2"inch 4 hole Spacer 🤙

So here is some pictures of just the start of blowing out the plenum entry to shape to suit the 2"inch spacer and blended into the runners

More photos to come when all finished up

Car club/Group for Motorvation

Ok thought I'd put the feelers out there for Motivation how many people that I have either built Engines for, Tuned ya car or Worked on your car would want to be part of the MothMan Motorsport group if I did one ?

Comment yes if so and I can get some ruff numbers and I'll start a group chat

Otherwise I'll just stick to where I already am with

This is all Raw unfiltered videos because I'm no good at trying to edit them and don't have anything to hide and trying to keep up with the social media side of things 🤷🤣

But here is part 2 of checking over the Syco Moth engine opening up the sump to have a look at some bearings

Pretty happy with the condition of the Engine for how much work it's done bottom end is sweet just like I thought it would be 👌
It might not be at every single burnout comp like some but that is just purely because I can't afford it and don't have my own Race car transport to get the car to events easy enough😞
But when the car does get used I make sure I'm driving the wheels off it all day at track events Crusing, powerskids, racing, burnouts, will hopefully see it at some drift events when she running again 🤙 and some street Crusing as well
