Here's one of those jobs that are talked about amongst our followers, But rarely seen, as it isn't a common occurrence thankfully. And that's a job that really makes us work for every Dollar we have charged, and given us a good ass kicking every step we take.
We don't hide this type of content away in a vault as it shows exactly what we have to deal with at times, let alone the true capability of us dealing with these situations and in most cases, a single operator on their own carrying out self recoverys of our trucks to continue with the job at hand.
The owner of this vehicle become bogged and unfortunately lost the keys whilst walking out of the bush to get help. In cases like these where the area is challenging like this, we would look at getting a key cut to make life easier.. But these are a dealer only option, so that rules that option out and given we still needed to tow the vehicle a further 100km to its destination. The tilt tray was the financially viable option to the client, trying to minimise the cost of having a second truck 300km away from our yard.
Ill let the photo's do most the talking as its easier than writing a novel, which most people don't read anyway. But taking a few hours longer than planned, and multiple self recovery's..... We got there in the end and safely recovered the vehicle.
Now to the few that are going to say.... " push it out with the tray".... Yes you will get away with that in some cases and get lucky. But in these sloppy or soft sand situations, it won't help you. You have to remember this chassis height is 1.5m high and you only have a 6.5m tray, so most of the push will be consumed by the soft ground you are pushing into. Let alone it absolutely destroys your chance of going backwards if you need to as well.
