A busy weekend, but the new motor and sequential is now back in the car.

See what happens when you and your engine builder think you can cool the motor better than what Mitsubishi did from the factory, with help from Powerhouse Racing, Fabrication And Performance and Speedflow Australia .

Looking forward to installing this mated to the new billet transfer case from High Speed Engineering complete with upgraded crownwheel, pinion and yoke from Neat Gearboxes.

Well it’s been awhile and not too much has been happening on the car due to a combination of low motivation, residual effects from a car accident start of May slowing me down considerably around getting treatment twice a week and feeling the effects of it.
I have however made it to the workshop this weekend and fitted up the new front subframe from RaceFab whilst we wait on new valves, springs and gasket to complete the build of the ported head by Advanced Motorsport Solutions.

A billet transfer case is on the way from High Speed Engineering , along with an upgraded crown wheel and pinion and billet tailshaft yoke from Neat Gearboxes . This will be built in upcoming weeks.

Sadly with all this work yet to happen, then the required tuning and testing we won’t be making it to this years Goldrush hillclimb. This is a tough pill to swallow on top of everything else that has been going on, but it’s better to take our time and get everything right - including the driver!

Fingers crossed for some completed engine updates in the next few weeks 😊

Another busy weekend fitting more items to the dummy engine, making -3AN lines for all the sensors, routing wiring as well as adding to the list of things for Auto Sport Electronics and Fabrication And Performance to do!

Also have been trying to nut out how the new cooling system will operate efficiently, to this effect I also have Third Strike Fabrications on the job from the other side of the country - let’s hope what is in my head actually works 🤯

Busy long weekend working on the Evo on the road to Goldrush Sprint in July!

Firstly was installing a dummy block and head thanks to Hikunse Motorsport.
This then allowed fitting up the turbo and running the EGT’s on their path to the MoTeC E888.

This will also allow the car to go in the future to Tune Corp to build the BMRS hoses for the cooling system prior to the new motor being complete, as well as plumbing for the sensors in the engine bay.

Next step was to remove the Topstage Composites dash to access the wiring, and neatened up throughout for both the custom Auto Sport Electronics loom and the Bosch Motorsport Australia ABS.
From there we had to install the mount for the M150.

Next update we should have some motor progress to show!

Back working on the Evo today.

We have entered the Goldrush Hillclimb in Queensland this July after spectating last year.
So whilst the engine get assembled at Advanced Motorsport Solutions, some other areas of the car are getting upgraded.

Firstly the MoTeC M130 and C125 are getting ungraded to C127 and M150.
To facilitate this RPM 3D Scanning and Printing made up a shroud to house the new dash on the steering column.

Next big upgrade is to the cooling system. We are working on a system to introduce cool water into the latter cylinders that get pre heated water from cylinders 1 and 2. To facilitate this we are using an electric water pump that will be controlled via the MoTeC, and enter via billet core plugs supplied from Powerhouse Racing.
