🌧️ Wet‑Weather Grip Drops Fast Below 3mm

Most drivers don’t realise how quickly tyre performance falls once tread depth gets low. Below 3mm, wet‑weather braking distances can increase by up to 44–50% — turning a controlled stop into a collision risk.

The key maintenance actions are:

• Tyre Pressure: Check PSI (or kPa) every few weeks when tyres are cold. Incorrect pressure causes edge wear (under‑inflation) or centre wear (over‑inflation).

• Tyre Rotation and Balance: Rotate and balance tyres regularly to even out wear from steering and braking. Every 10,000km for passenger tyres, 5,000–7,000km for heavy 4WD tyres.

• Wheel Alignment: Check alignment annually or after hitting potholes to prevent rapid edge wear.
